About this sitter

Hello! I am Lori — a quiet, responsible, 50-year-old audio description writer. I love to explore new cities by way of fitness adventures, parks, and public transportation. I grew up in Michigan but have lived in Chicago, Los Angeles, Denver, and New Orleans. As I work remotely, I just need a good wifi connection and a home base to explore a new or favorite city during long or short-term sits.

Why they want to house sit

Housesitting gives me the opportunity to travel more with less expense. As I work remotely, I am able to change locations often, which I am finding I prefer over finding a permanent location to call home. I am an animal lover, but my constant urge to be on the move isn’t ideal for pet ownership. Pet sitting satisfies my need to give and receive love to others’ animals.

Their experience

I have been on three very successful cat sits this past year. One from Mind My House and two others from another site. I have also stayed in months-long Airbnbs, where I've respected my accommodations as my own and left them in excellent condition.

In addition, I live with my sister and her cat, Rufus. While my sister is at work, I feed, pet, play with, and leave him alone when ordered to, while I work from home. After almost three years, we've really bonded, and I love him more than I ever thought I could.

What can they bring to the assignment

I have a lot of experience navigating cats' moods and needs. I also spend a lot of time in the homes where I'm staying to care for my charges. While I'm in your home, I wouldn't smoke, drink, or move much, for that matter. I am quiet, vaccinated, and love animals.
