About this sitter
We are an energetic retired couple, Darrel from transportation logistics sales and Sharon from administration of our company. We started housesitting part time in 2012. In August, 2013 we left our home of 17 years in West Kelowna, BC with the intention of travelling and housesitting our way around the world for the next 1-1/2 to 2 years. That changed along the way, and we have been housesitting ever since although not full time. We have now completed over 100 house and pet sits.
We are non-smoking, non-drinking, health conscious, respectful ,neat and tidy animal lovers.
Why they want to house sit
We have no pets at home after many years of pet ownership and enjoy the opportunity to mind others loved ones, giving them piece of mind while they travel. Additionally, we love to explore new foods and find travelling a wonderful way to discover new local cuisine.

Darrel and Sharon are sweethearts
Darrel and Sharon are sweethearts, literally! They told me they met in high school and many years later, are loving life together and exploring the world through house sits. Their response to questions was fast. They arrived when they said they would and stayed until we got home. I believe they left my house cleaner than when they arrived; all the bedding and towels were washed and neatly folded and the two cats were happy. I would definitely use them again, unfortunately, they like leaving Canada for the winter (and who can blame them?).

We were so grateful to Darrel and Sharon for looking after Mela and our home so thoughtfully. Their whole approach right from the get-go was constructive without any unnecessary fuss. They are old hands at this game and as this was our first housesitting venture we were grateful to be in such good hands. Darrel and Sharon understood and keep to our 'house rules' as far as Mela was concerned, which was very important to us. We came home to a beautifully clean house and car - thank you! Their communications were just right, we heard from them when it was needed but and not when it wasn't, prefect! I honestly don't think I can say enough
I honestly don't think I can say enough about how nice it was to have Darrel and Sharon watch our house and of course our pets. They sent us a few pictures along the way of the spoiled beasts which enabled all of us to relax and enjoy our vacation. They communicated when they needed to and were very quick to respond to any of our communication. I think they left our house cleaner for us coming home than we left it for them when we left. I cannot recommend them highly enough.

Darrel and Sharon were absolutely wonderful and we'd go away just so they could come again! They offered to arrive a day early so they could meet the dogs and get familiar with our home as we had an early morning flight and wouldn’t have met in person otherwise. Five star sitters
Darrel and Sharon are FANTASTIC five-star sitters! We loved meeting them online before we confirmed, at our house before the sit and the wrap up after the sit. They are top notch sitters with lots and lots of experience and are congenial & outgoing. They immediately made our dogs feel comfortable which in turn had us feel 110% confident when we left our 2 dogs, 2 cats and 3 chickens with them (plus greenhouse). They did an excellent job taking care of the house; everything was safe, neat, tidy and clean upon our return. We HIGHLY recommend them and would love to have them return to our home and animals.

Darrel and Sharon are absolutely wonderful. They are caring, responsible and devoted to ensure your home and pets are looked after. One of our dogs had to be given medication every eight hours so it is very difficult to find someone that you can trust that will not miss a dosage or be late. Darrel and Sharon were people that ensures that she got her meds in time. This is such a relief when you are away. Our home was the way we left it upon return. Most of all they took the time to help us out locally. We greatly appreciate them and are excited to hear about their future sittings. Take care Darrel and Sharon.

Amazing
There might not be enough space to properly say how amazing Sharon and Darrel are! They helped us while we got stuck in Costa Rica with very short notice and not much information on the care of our two old pups Kobie and Micki. They jumped in, helped us with all the details and took such good caring care for them. Kobie had a injury on his paw and they cared for him exactly how we would have, making us feel 1000% confident in the gentle perfect healing care they gave him. They have a great site where we could see the pups and updates. When we finally stepped into our house it was so sparkling clean, groceries waiting for us, happy pups and a beautiful Welcome home plant gift with a homemade cover and card. I cried happy tears for such a warm welcome from them! We would love to have them back in our home and with our pups again in a heartbeat - THANK YOU Again

Fantastic house sitters
Darrel and Sharon are fantastic house sitters. They looked after my 2 dogs with great care and love. One of my dogs had an infection on one of his toes, they had no problem taking him to the Vet and gave him medication accordingly. Also my furnace was acting up during the sit and Darrel and Sharon managed the situation proactively and efficiently. They kept me informed and put my mind at ease while I was away. My house was spotless, clean and everything was perfect when I returned. I can't say enough how much I appreciated Darrel and Sharon. I will definitely have them house/pet sit for me again anytime in the future.

Excellent housesitters
Sharon and Darrel were excellent housesitters. They took good care of my home, my plants and my cat. They were good communicators, having a couple of Skype meetings with me including a tour of my house. This was because we were not going to meet each other in person due to Covid-19. I took a much-needed holiday on the west coast, and was able to relax because I knew my cat and home were in good hands. I believe this was their 67 or 69 cat they have looked after. Skiddy is 17 years old, just had 6 teeth removed and is a very picky eater. I think she may have gained a bit of weight since I was gone, and her coat never looked better. I would be happy to welcome them both again in the future.

Phenomenal sitters
Darrel and Sharon were phenomenal sitters. Not only have the garden and animals been cared for extremely well, they also harvested and processed a lot of our produce for us while we were away. Our property had a lot of work to do for 2 people, 2-3 hrs per day and they were incredible in everything they did. The house was immaculate upon our arrival home and nothing broken or ruined as our past experiences have been with some sitters. A couple of fruit trees and bushes died in the extreme heat of this year (2020) but that was totally understandable given the drought and heat of this summer. They are both open minded and treat house sitting as their business and work. They are very organized with it and I would trust them with any undertaking. You will be lucky if they chose your house!

Darrel and Sharon really are top of the list
We have had many great Housesitters but Darrel and Sharon really are top of the list. They were very experienced and thoughtful and it showed right from first communication all the way to the end of the sit. Between when we booked the sit and their arrival we unexpectedly ended up acquiring a new addition to the fur family - a rambunctious energetic kitten. When we checked in to see if this change would affect their interest in the sit there was no hesitation, they took what was now quite a different sit in stride. Upon arriving they asked key questions to help take the best care of our place and kitties, including tending to a fairly large garden. When we arrived back our home was absolutely immaculate and they had made homemade jam for us with berries from the yard. They truly went above and beyond including mowing the lawn and doing other house tasks we said could wait (but we’re stoked to come back to being done!) truly recommended. The best
Sharon and Darrel were the best! I went away being very concerned about Marmalady who wasn't doing well and they took her to the vet for tests and reassured me throughout the process. I was kept updated about the cats and sent lots of videos and photos. Came back to really happy cats and a very clean house. You can't go wrong with these two! Did a great job
Darrel and Sharon did a great job of looking after our two beagles, Casey and Lucy. The dogs both looked happy and healthy when we returned.
