About this sitter
We are willing to go anywhere from 10 days to two months.... Shery has spent the last 30 years as an architectural historian and museum director. Joe has been a radio and tv sports caster and talk show host for the last 42 years. We both own homes in Connecticut and are very familiar with the needs of pets, homes and plants.
Why they want to house sit
We love pets, we love to travel and we love to meet new people and to have new experiences. Our goal is to meet as many great pets and pet owners as possible. It's a great way to visit and to experience new places and enjoy their culture, flora and fauna and local cuisine.
Their experience
We have spent the better part of the last several years house/petsitting in Florida, North Carolina, Arizona, Texas, California, the Pacific Northwest, Northeast, Greece, Mexico and Belgium taking care of a variety of pets including dogs, cats, chickens and a parrot. We loved it! We are long term pet owners who fully understand and appreciate taking great care of pets and property.
What can they bring to the assignment
Enthusiasm, caring for pets and property and the ability to adapt to our surroundings. We are neat and clean and believe in leaving the houses the same way we found them. We will be conscientious about the surroundings and caring for the pets. We are fully vaccinated and don't smoke or do drugs. We believe it's our responsibility to be the best house sitters and pet caregivers possible.

Excellent, clean and reliable housesitter!
Shery housesat for our 2 cats in our Albuquerque home for 10 days in May, 2023. Shery was very easy to coordinate and work with. Our normally "shy towards strangers" girls loved Shery right away and we left knowing they were in good hands. Shery worked from home, which we liked, because we knew she would be at the home much of the time. You can tell she is very experienced because she asked a lot of questions (things I forgot to include in our instructions!), and took notes. Shery sent daily photos and little updates on our cats so we didn't worry, and she left our home cleaner than she found it! We trusted Shery with our car and she was very responsible. We would welcome Shery again anytime to housesit for our cats and home. Thank you Shery!

Over and beyond
Sheryl Hack is a reliable, honest, and kind house sitter. I can only describe Sheryl as accountable and a great communicator. Sheryl and Joe have been so wonderful and kind to my black little pugTovey. She always would ask me if it was okay to take Tovey on a hike and would send me updates with pictures of Tovey when they stayed at my home. They were neat and reliable whenever I reached out to them to stay at my home. I give them a 10-star rating, and whoever is lucky enough to have them watch their pets and their home will see why I can give them the highest ratings possible.

March 2023 N Scottsdale AZ housesit
Sheri (and at times a friend and then her partner) stayed over 3 weeks in our rural Scottsdale area home with our two dogs. Despite unexpectedly wet and cold weather she walked, hiked and loved on them and kept us up on things with the house and garden during some storms. They loved their daily walks and snuggles. Sheri stayed in touch during our trip and handled some issues with the greenhouse well. Our Border collie requires daily meds which she kept on schedule. She drove our vehicle during the sit and waved and filled the gas tank before we got home. Enjoyed meeting her and Joe.

Highly recommend great house sitters!
Sheryl and her friend Toni came house sit and took care of our two cats while we were away for a few weeks. We couldn't be happier with the care they provided. Not only were they able to take care of our cats/plants and make sure they were happy and well-fed, but they also kept our house impeccably clean and tidy. We highly recommend Sheryl and Toni for any house and pet-sitting needs. They are reliable, trustworthy, and we were glad to meet them. We hope you enjoyed your trip!

Mahalo For Taking Such Great Care Of Our Menagerie!
My wife and I were relieved to find Sheryl and Joe on mindmyhouse. Their listing is as real as they are in person...great people, friendly, responsible and especially loving to pets. As pet and house sitters, Sheryl and Joe took great care of our three dogs (one inside dog and two outside dogs) anda two outside cats as well as our small island farm. They kept in contact via text and phone calls and that let us have a very strong level of comfort knowing that our fur babies were doing well and no problems had arisen in our absence. We provided use of our Four-Wheel Drive Truck so they could check out the island. As responsible sitters, the pets, house and truck all were in perfect condition upon our return. My wife and I agree that we not only met some great sitters but more importantly made some great friends. Our door will forever be open to Sheryl and Joe as friends, sitters, guests or fellow travelers. We highly recommend Sheryl and Joe as pet and/or house sitters.
