About this sitter

Hi, I am Gisela, looking for a bit of a change once in a while. I travelled a lot when I was younger and now prefer staying put for a little while so that I have lots of time to spend with the animal(s) and also to explore the location.
I love cats and dogs as well as other animals, well, cats in particular. I am a trustworthy and responsible-minded person.
I used to work for the government as a teacher for English and French, and have managed my own household for more than 50 years.

Why they want to house sit

My apartment is not suited for a cat.
I like being with a cat/cats, as well as being away from the hustle and bustle of Berlin for a while.
Pet sitting offers a win-win situation for both pet parents and sitters. Peope need help, and I like being of service.
I had a cat when I lived in a house in Canada, and have lived in quite a places with cats around. I always was great buddies with my neighbors' dog(s).

Their experience

I started my 'carreer' as a housesitter a few decades ago looking after an apartment in San Francisco. I take care of my neighbor's plants etc. when she is away.
My foster daughter has recently adopted a Swiss Shepherd puppy which I occasionally babysit.
By now I have successfully completed (all in all) eight sits in Switzerland to everybody's and the cats' contentment and satisfation. I am presently sitting a cat and a house for 3 months.
Being a mature personality, I am certain that I will be up to requirements.

What can they bring to the assignment

Friendliness, responsibility, and, of course, love of animals.
I am a practical hands-on person who remains calm in case of a problem. E. g. I once gave first aid to a rather huge German Shepherd who had been hit by a car. He did not know me well, nor I him, but he let me check him out and bandage his leg. I suppose this was due to my remaining calm and composed.
I am by now familiar also with certain feline ailments and have managed a certain amount of medical care.
