About this sitter

We're the type of people who rescue worms and snails from the walkway, and give water to dehydrated honeybees. Our housesitting and travel CVs are many pages long.

We’re a couple of old soul artists, 41 and 39 times around the sun so far. Christine is a writer, Gabe is a musician; our business powers combine into Kitestring Studio, a web development company.

We’re looking for a safe, cozy place to reside while genuinely caring for the home, animals, neighbors, and surrounds.

Why they want to house sit

We housesit to give quality care to the community; we want to help our fellow neighbors around the world.

As travelers, we prefer to live like locals and avoid the noise of tourist traps. Instead of bouncing from place to place, we want to fully experience a neighborhood: to immerse ourselves within, better understand, and appreciate the local culture.

Travel Backgrounds:
Christine was raised by three generations of wanderlusts who taught her to appreciate living out of a suitcase. Her travels often doubled as work with various theatre companies and performing at international fringe festivals.
Gabe has mostly traveled with family members to remote and populous regions, and in recent years has enjoyed solo adventures to better connect with people and places.

Their experience

We have decades of experience as a long-term and short-term house-sitters and pet-sitters in the U.S. and Australia, long before we knew about these housesit networking websites.

Individually and as a team, we've cared for children, indoor plants, outdoor gardens, fish, goats, chickens, dogs, and cats.

Our extensive positive references don't exist online. Christine used to have a profile on Care.com; she recently retired her teaching and nanny work. We're happy to provide references upon request.

Regarding background checks:
We're proud to say our records are spotless. For example, Christine has professionally worked with children since 2002 (teaching, directing in theater, coaching gymnastics, nannying). She has passed every strict annual criminal background check; the most recent check covered the 2019 school term. Nothing has changed or affected those records in the past three years. Gabe operates by the same integrity, ethics, values, and honesty.

Christine took care of my 6 month old, and it was a great experience. She had no problem adapting to his schedule, getting him down to nap as well as I ever have, and keeping him active and happy. Her flexibility and professionalism was a lifesaver when my son needed odd-hour care while I was transitioning out of my paternity leave.

My kids love Cricket. She is so creative and finds great ways to interact with many different personalities. She does a good job one on one or with a group of kids. As a parent, I'm really happy when my kids like their caregiver. My cats really like her too.
