About this sitter
Hi, my name is Mika, I'm a traveling journalist, a writer and a digital nomad, doing my work remotely in different parts of the world since 2018. I've collected quite a variety of experience pet sitting and house sitting during these 7 years. So far I've helped out house and pet owners in Canada, United States, Mexico, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Panama, Portugal and Slovenia. I'm going to be writing my third book during January and June 2025 and during this time I would love to stay in a quiet place where I could focus on my work, while showering your pet companions with all the attention and care they need. Cats, dogs, goldfish, donkeys - I love to watch over them all. =)
Why they want to house sit
I wrote my first book while petsitting in Canada and my second book while pet sitting in Latin America. House and pet sitting provides me with a peaceful setting that I need for my writing and just the right amount of responsibility, groundedness, exercise (with energetic dogs) and great company - possibly by your cats and/or dogs.
Their experience
I've done about 20 sitting assignments during the course of the last 6 years and took care mostly of dogs and cats. I've been hosted by pet owners in Canada, United States, Mexico, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Panama, Portugal and Slovenia. We usually stayed in touch after the assignments and I gladly connect you with my previous hosts, so that they can provide some testimonials.
What can they bring to the assignment
An abundance of belly rubs, maturity, dutiful daily reports to the owner, a ton of photographic material (if photographing allowed by the owner; photography is my passion and hobby). I gladly water the plants, take care of the garden and any kind of project that needs to be done in or around the home.

The Perfect Cat Sitter
From our very first conversation I felt very comfortable with Mika. She kept in touch before the sit which put me at ease. She sat for six weeks with my two boys, Dude, very easy going and Chachi, who gets stressed with the slightest change. She slid right in to their routine and they developed a close relationship. She communicated often and even sent photos, some with funny captions of the goings on in their daily life. The house and plants were also well cared for. I recommend Mika especially for a home with cats and would happily have her back again.
