Just retired energetic couple with lots of time for your beloved pets

Hello, we are Robert and Petra from Rotterdam, the Netherlands.
During our lives we have had several pets: dogs (including big ones), cats, birds, fish and Guinea pigs, most of the time living all together. So we know the special needs for young as well as older animals and their desires.
Watching your beloved pets is for us a happy event, since we have none ourselves anymore.

Why they want to house sit

Combining a stay in a new and unknown location with pets around us who we can take care off and who give us friendship back and who we can cuddle is a situation that we missed the last couple of years.
Since we have a boat where we prefer to go to when we like, its not comfortable for us having our own pets anymore. We bought our boat (in Friesland) when waiting for covid-19 to come to Europe in March 2020, so we were able to do our lockdown having a rural holiday for a couple of months, and we loved that time. Google Friesland and water tourism, if you like rural and when you are a bit organised and adventurous with an older boat (or camper on the water). All facilities were closed in the harbours at that time, so we had to adjust.

Their experience

We are used to pet sits for our friends in their homes. Since we are in our sixties we are no party-animals anymore and prefer our comfort and a relaxed stay, but also miss our work and the challenges we had before. We are now in a situation that we like to sit houses with or without their pets in more rural situations. Two or tree times a year we like to go for an amazing holiday in our boat in Friesland again, but we have the time to ourselves, so we are free to help out pet lovers that need time for themselves or for holidays or what so ever.
For a couple of years I was even a Guinea pig breeder, because my little daughter (then) was so enthousiastic for that kind (although a bit boring) animals and some of her friends and the pet-store were so keen of the baby’s we were breeding.
All our pets that we welcomed in our house came from a shelter or were abandoned or had had some troubles at first. I have a lot of stories about them, that are very joyful.

What can they bring to the assignment

See above, we are a very relaxed and friendly couple, that still love each other very much. We can spend weeks together on our small boat in perfect harmony. We are starters with this organization, but also are very experienced with house sitting and we travelled around the world as much we could and therefore at this time we are not experienced in what we need to say to you and in what way to present ourselves to you, in a way you can find you can rely upon us, what you absolutely really can!
Of course we are very tidy and neat and very well organised. We speak different languages well enough and read even more, and we both are highly educated. We hardly do anything with social media. I was a system-analist in IT and als was very interested in communication and marketing in the IT-branche and my husband was a company secretary.
We have traveled a lot in our lives, around the word and mostly not organised, the last years without children in Airbnb’s and as we like it. Now, as we are just retired, we can fill our personal lives unlimited with things we always wanted to do more frequently and we decided that the best way for ourselves and people and animals around us was to join an organization that is not too commercial (not limiting clients to much) and bring people together who have a lifetime of good memories for doing something out of the box with mutual trust. Sorry, I can sometimes be too serious, but if you are interested, tell us what you need for a secure feeling! We can only tell you in our most innocent way that you have reliable, mature people (us) to handle with and we like to spend time with animals that are beloved. Please don’t ask us for commercial reasons!
