About this sitter

We relish meeting and connecting with folks from everywhere. If you are on couchsurfing.com you can look us up and read all of our reviews. We have hosted couchsurfers from many countries for free and have made long term friendships with several of them. Our home is pretty immaculate and we would certainly care for your home and pets just as we do our own. (We have no pets at the current time.) We have been home to many pets over the years like dogs, cats, horses, chickens, pheasants, rabbits, emus, and pidgeons to name a few. We had some acreage in Oregon at that time. We are retired and live in Hawaii where we enjoy snorkeling, kayaking, swimming with dolphins and whales, playing tennis, golf, and other sports. We are in good health so we haven't really had to 'slow' down that much. Tom walks over 5 miles a day and I am on the tennis and pickelball courts frequently.
We do enjoy relaxing and having a quiet environment like in the countryside. I am not a fan of noisy traffic but if the location was extra appealing, I can deal with a bit of noise thanks to ear plugs and head phones.

Why they want to house sit

Housesitting appeals to us because it provides an incentive to explore parts of the world we may not have known about. If we can care for your home and pets while having a great stay in your lovely home, it means we are both giving and receiving. We can provide a service to you and at the same time get to enjoy your 'kids' (the furry or feathery kind)! Great concept.

Their experience

Our lifestyle has provided extensive experience with just about any situation. We have not led a sheltered life by any means. Traveling and living abroad have been our norm. We are comfortable communicating in Spanish, Portuguese, French, Italian, and German.
