About this sitter
We are mature, responsible dog lovers with lots of experience with our own dogs (pic with the 2 "blondes") during the last few decades. Plus I have dog sat in Canada in 2014 for about three months, the next time house sitting was in 2021 in Stamford. There are links to the references of the first three assignments at the bottom of the text.
Then in June 2023 we were house-sitting with 3 Labs near Murcia in Spain. The next house-sitting assignment was in Italy in December 2023. This time it was very large dogs (Cane Corso and Bordeaux doggy). Moreover, in May 2024 we were house-sitting in Spain near Castellon caring for 3 large dogs. The most recent house-sit was in Valencia this autumn-
I have very good references from all the homes and have been asked to resit for them, too.
Why they want to house sit
I am a teacher of foreign languages and I love travelling and learning more languages. Moreover, as I am very fond of dogs, housesitting would be a perfect way to combine my interests.
My partner is an engineer of contruction and a very handy man. So eg handling the pool maintanance or generator or mowing your lawn would be no problem.

What can they bring to the assignment
Two sporty, reliable, dutiful adults to give very good care for your pet(s). We are in the habit of taking such long walks even without dogs, just for the fun of it.
We both are very tidy persons and will keep your house/home clean and tidy at all times.

Reliable, Responsible, Mature Sitter
Riitta came to look after our two large breed dogs for almost 3 weeks in December 2023. We live in a very remote mountain village in Italy, which isn't everyone's cup of tea, but Riitta managed extremely well. She walked the dogs every day and looked after the house as if it were her own. I would recommend Riitta.

Reliable and Trustworthy
Upon meeting Riitta and her partner Jukka, we found them to be very friendly. We spent a day explaining everything that they might have to attend to - including managing medicines and injections for our dogs. Before we left the next morning, Riitta had a couple of questions (duly answered). The dogs (and house) couldn't have been in better hands. The dogs were walked (local friends saw them out every day) and the house was beautifully clean and tidy when we returned. Even the plants were thriving. When Riitta and Jukka left, the dogs were a little sad (a very good sign that they had been very happy in their care. I would be very happy to have Riitta and Jukka care for both our dogs and house again and I would recommend this lovely couple to anyone who is thinking of asking them to help out in the future. I would certainly not hesitate to ask them again (if only Riitta didn't want to travel and see other parts of the world. Maybe I would be able to persuade her to come here again.
