I'm an Artist, painting mainly Seascapes and Landscapes. Some of my work can be seen here -

Although I'm drawn to natural places, I also really enjoy the cultural side of life. Art galleries, museums and book shops are a particular joy.
Why they want to house sit
I enjoy the reciprocal nature of house sitting. As a single person, it can be a nice way to spend quality time in a particular place; whilst enabling home owners to go away with the peace of mind that someone is looking after their property and or pets.
Their experience
Yes. I had a break from house sitting just after the Covid lockdown, to care for my Mum. Prior to that I had been a member of the site for approx 6 years.
I have shared my life with animals since childhood; cats, fish, birds and dogs.
What can they bring to the assignment
Hopefully a calm and practical approach, reliable and conscientious. An awareness that staying in someone else's home is a privilege, so looking after that and any pets as if they were my own is a priority.

A brilliant house sitter
Amanda got us very quickly, asking all the right questions. Many people like frequent messages, photos etc. We prefer to only hear if there's an issue, not needing to be hostage to our phones. Amanda completely respected this. We came home to a very calm cat (she got a handle on Para immediately) and a very clean house. We can't recommend her highly enough.

Amanda house sat my home in Windermere while I was on a prolonged visit to Australia. She did a brilliant job including getting some information needed by my conveyancing solicitor. She left the house immaculate. I highly recommend her as a home sitter

Book Amanda quickly if you can!
Amanda was an ideal housesitter and easy to communicate with both before and after the sit. She arrived the day before we set off as she travelled a long way, so we had a little time to get to know her. Whilst we were away, we knew that we had no reason to worry at all. Amanda looked after our 2 semi feral cats for almost 4 weeks and they were quite settled when we returned so must have felt cared for. All was good with the house when we got home, and we'd quite happily have Amanda sit for us again. If she applies for your housesit, book her quickly!

Chicken and dog sitting
Amanda is a wonderful house sitter, a considerate, detail focussed, conscientious person (especially useful to have a house sitter with this style of living in city apartment or close neighbours) And I would recommend her to you with out hesitation. I have asked Amanda repeatedly to come and house sit for me in London and I know for a fact I am not the only person who lines up their holidays and business trips around Amandas availability as there is total peace of mind handing over the keys. Amanda is a grown up who can navigate your oven, TV remote, garage door and other nuanced stuff without calling or bothering the house owner - she just gets on with it which is such a relief. No parties, no unwanted guests appearing. Amanda is honest to a fault, and looks after pets with heart and care. I have had my house returned to me in perfect condition with neighbours loving her friendly demeanour. A++ - I couldn't recommend her highly enough Ps - just realised I am possibly shooting myself in the foot writing this as will I ever get Amanda available to look after my house again
