So... Hi we are Sally & Geoff, a happily married couple based in Wales, on the beautiful Gower peninsula. We love to travel, and are
huge animal lovers. Our lovely son is happily married, so we're able to take time to do as we please.
Geoff is a self employed heating engineer, I worked at a local high street bank for many years. Now semi retired, I feel lucky to walk some beautiful dogs. We also undertake private housesits.
Geoff is a very keen cyclist, if possible he'd like to bring his bike along on sits. We love the outdoors, walking hiking and jogging. Geoffs a music lover, and plays guitar, he speaks some Spanish, which hes always looking to improve. I enjoy yoga, cooking & baking.
Together we've run a B&B, we've also enjoyed hosting foreign students. Just like my lovely mum,
I like to keep things neat clean & organised.
We're easy going, non meat eating foodies. We're non smokers.
We kept busy during lock down renovating a 250 year old cottage, we completed the majority of the work ourselves, it was a labour of love, although towards the end we did consider making a bonfire of paintbrushes! We now very happily call it home. If any basic maintenance jobs need doing while your away, no problem, our DIY skills are great!
All animals in our care are treated as our own, and each property we stay in is treated with utmost respect .

Why they want to house sit

Initially it was Alfie, our great big doberman who led us into housesitting. Alf didn't have the best of starts in life, which left him a nervous sensitive soul, who suffered with seperation anxiety, and was on an array of medication, routine was paramount for Alf, and he certainly wouldn't of coped with kennel life. So we bought a motorhome and enjoyed adventures all over Europe & the UK with him. However there were places we'd of liked to have visited, but knew they just wouldn't of suited Alfie.
After loosing Alf :( we were torn between committing to another dog, or pursueing our love of travel. We knew there must be lots of other people
who would prefer their much loved pets to be cared for in their own home, and kept to their normal routine, while they travel. Also home owners, who for a varity of reasons, would simply prefer their home not to be left unoccupied during their absence. So we decided to start house sitting locally. We very quickly became busy, we loved it straight away, it suites us perfectly.
We then decided to join an international websites, to travel further afield. While housesitting we have fallen in love with so many beautiful and interesting animals, we've met some wonderful people, and visited some beautiful places. We feel very greatful to every homeowner who puts their trust in us.

Their experience

We have a wealth of experience caring for animals, and looking after properties. We were both brought up with family pets. We went on to welcome some beautiful rescue cats, & dogs into our own family, along with marine fish, hamsters, rabbits and guinea
pigs. We very used to maintaining properties, apart from our own home, we maintain our holiday rental. We've also run a 14 bedroom B&B, and hosted foreign students in our home.
Over the last eight years I've walked dogs, covering most breeds, with all sorts of personalities. We are both fully confident in all dogs company. We have learnt to deal calmly and patiently with the behaviour traits that come along with dog care.
As well as some very special dogs & gorgeous cats, we've also enjoyed caring for some interesting pigs, horses, chickens, fish, ducks, sheep, goats and a ram.
It's been a privilege, and a pleasure.
We've maintained swimming pools, tended to gardens and allotments, looked after a beautiful off grid old watermill, a canal boat, a few farm houses, and a hotel. We've shown prospective buyers around a property, and prepared holiday rentals for guests. We adapt easily, nothing much fazes us.
Geoff is very capable, he enjoys DIY and can turn his hand to most jobs.
Although we're quite new to 'real' gardening, we inherited a cottage garden, so we're learning as we go along, all advice is welcome!
Every housesit we undertake is our absolute priority during the sit, and we are available to the homeowner 24/7
We let our listing lapse during the pandemic, therefore
lost our previous reveiws.
However we have a profile on a different site, which we would happily share with homeowners we contact.
Referances from our private housesits are readily available.
* We rejoined MMH to apply for a sit in Ronda, and are happy to say we spent 3 wonderful weeks there for that sit, and so far have returned three times :)

What can they bring to the assignment

We bring peace of mind to homeowners who choose us to housesit for them. Peace of mind that they can leave their home knowing everything has been left in safe & capable hands. That all instructions and wishes they have expressed to us will be followed completely. We will enjoy the animals, they will be well loved, and cared for as if they were our own. Any property we look after will be well maintained, and treated with utmost respect, as we do our own.
We're a low maintenance, reliable, couple. Being together for over 35 years, we've dealt with many sticky situations, nothing much alarms us.
We travel frequently, housitting is something we choose to do sometimes. We enjoy having the responsibility and routine of taking care of a property, and although we do enjoy each others company :) we also enjoy the company of animals. Housesitting is the cherry on our travelling cake :)
