About this sitter
Single male with a lot of world experience. Two daughters and three granddaughters, who are living their own lives now, unless bank of dad required!!
Retired Police Officer, followed by 7 years in the Environment Agency where i worked on the rivers helping to maintain them as well as associated flood defenses.
Figure it's my time now, want to travel, create new memories and experience and see what the world has to offer.
Still very fit, keep active, work hard and always up for a challenge. Enjoy playing golf, so hopefully will get the opportunity to play the odd game.
Why they want to house sit
Looking for that opportunity to meet new people, and experience different cultures and to broaden my understanding of our very diverse world, and most importantly, create new memories and possibly friendships.
Their experience
I have had the opportunity to live a very interesting life. My children are all grown up living their own lives with children of their own, though they are very much apart of my life as I am to them.
I like to think I’m mature, responsible, and trustworthy.
I am currently travelling around working for different hosts using the: HelpX scheme, whether in the gardens, DIY or general maintenance.
During my life I have had a number of pets, from cats, dogs and the odd reptile, (daughters) so I am very familiar with animals. If fact I would say waking the dog is one of life’s great pleasures.

Amazing housesitter
Terry has been living for 6 months in my place , taking care of my 3 cats and 2 dogs. he has been a great housesitter and took care of quite some problems while I was gone. My elderly dog hasn't been well the whole time, Terry looked after her and kept me up to date about her and the other animals via WhatsApp. Also when problems arose with toilet, taps, water pump and electricity ,Terry either fixed it well himself or made sure he was home when technician came > easy and good communication. The Bali gods sure kept Terry busy! When I got home tired after a long flight, Terry made sure my bed was ready and waiting for me. The house was very clean and animals fat, fed and happy. It was good coming home like that. As pet and home owner who needs a house and pet sitter for 6 months every year, I meet a lot of different people. Terry is one of those people that you can 100% trust your home and animals to, without having to worry. That was such a relief for me. He can come back here any time he wants, even if I don't need a house sitter. He fit in very well with local life, and people loved him. It was a pleasure meeting him, although we couldn't spend much time together there was great communication over WhatsApp. Note to Terry: Thank you so much for all you've done! I highly recommend Terry to take care of your pets and home :-)
Terry offered to come and house it for me in March, whilst I had to go to Spain for work. He came the afternoon before, so we had time to get to know each other and for him to get to know my animals. We went for a little walk and I showed him about the food. We got on immediately and I had a very good feeling about leaving my animals in his care and those feelings proved to be right. We communicated whilst I was away and I got regular photographs, which was lovely. When I came home the house was really tidy Terry is a very kind and caring person and genuinely enjoys the company of animals. He also is very funny and made me laugh a lot especially when he showed me a picture of a dog he molded out of the hair he brushed out of my dog Jake, that was really funny. Terry is totally trustworthy and has helped me with a little odd job around my home, which was wonderful, because it involved standing on a ladder and I do not like ladders ? I would have him back anytime, as a matter of fact, I wanted him back for May, but he's going off somewhere else exiting for six months. I hope he will be back later this year. House sitter
Terry is a wonderful man, very kind, always a smile and a good word.He watched my house for a month and took really good care of my dogs cat, house, pools etc, After that he stayed on for a couple of weeks as a volunteer and was hard working, nothing was ever too much for him and it was a real pleasure having him here.He is very responsible, hard working and very trustworthy and fun to be around with. I can not have enough praise for him and can only highly recommend him. It was a pleasure meeting him and having him here, he can always come back here and I hope to have him house sit for me again in the future.Thank you Terry.
