Hello, I am an active, pickleball playing person, who sold my house and Airbnb Business in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico, in December of 2022. I lived in San Miguel from December, 2006, until March of 2024.

I am basically a home body, play pickleball in the mornings, am home most of the rest of the time. I have a mellow dog of my own. I love dogs and cats, so could care for yours...but a house without pets is great too.
I am hoping for 3 to 6 weeks in SMA within the time frame.

I am now REALLY retired, living in Ashland, Oregon, paying for rent and utilities etc. here. I would like very much to visit my friends in SMA every year. I'm willing to take care of your house and plants and pets in exchange for living in your home or casita while you are away. I am open to a house exchange as long as my dog is well cared for, as well.

Why they want to house sit

I love SMA and my friends there, and want to find a good way to accomplish that. I am certainly good enough in Spanish to make life interesting to the native Spanish speakers around me, and to get a good laugh out of them from time to time. In short, I am not great, but I get by wherever I travel in mexico, and have 18.5 years experience in SMA! I can take care of your home, pet, garden and house plants with ease. If you do not have pets, or have just one easy one, I'll definitely contribute by paying for cleaning and utilities. I'm happy to take your funds to pay bills, etc. if needed, also.

Their experience

Actually, yes, I've house sat, but mostly I've travelled and had other people take care of my home and pets and garden. The thing is...when I was not travelling, I was the one caring for house, garden and pets! So YES, boy do I have experience! I have friends in SMA who can vouch for my character, should you not know me already.

What can they bring to the assignment

A lot of life experience, 30 years of being a real estate agent and broker in the SF Bay Area, good common sense, experience designing and building homes, and yes, I know how to light a hot water heater without help. I've been a SuperHost for many years before selling my property in Mexico.

I'm a very healthy and responsible person who is quiet and respectful of your things, your home, and your pets, and expectations. Until lately, I've always owned my own home, and had dogs and cats most of my life. In Mexico (as well as in California), I've designed and built houses. I'm a cat lover and a dog lover, and I've never had the pleasure of having chickens, but it's a life-long wish. I won't call myself a master gardener, because I've not done what's necessary to get that designation, but I love gardens and house plants and know how to care for them. I am a home-grown Californian, Born in Los Angeles, and raised my son and daughter in Marin County. If you want a respectful, clean, quiet person who is responsible and trustworthy in your home while you're away, you will not be disappointed with me!
