Respectful & reliable house & pet sitter, Europe

About this sitter

Hello, I'm Nora, 40, originally from Germany, lived in Ireland for about 15 years where I studied film & TV production, for the past 10 years I'm a translator/ linguist by trade, which means I can work from anywhere while I travel the word, which is what I am doing for the past few years. Currently I'm in Sweden but flexible regarding the location. Pretty much all I need is reliable Wifi, maybe not too remote as I depend on public transport since I dont drive. I love pets, especially cats & dogs. I had a cat when I was a child and been minding friends cats and houses in Ireland while they have been away. I love traveling, books, yoga & meditation, spending time in nature, gardening, making new friends, the sea, art, learning new skills or about a new culture. I'm very socialable but my party years are definitely behind me and I'm rather quiet and an early bird.

Why they want to house sit

Traveling has always been my passion and I've traveled mainly in Europe and Asia over the last decades. I love pets and light gardening, slow traveling, which means I am "at home" a lot and like to discover the area in a slow pace rather than doing sightseeing in lightning speed ticking the boxes of the usual tourist attractions. Since I also work remotely this slow paced traveling suits me much better. I love the idea of house / pet sitting, it's a win-win situation: it enables me to work while I travel and safe money (for my own house one day..) and in the same time help the home / pet owner, so they can safe money too and have peace of mind while they are away. Traveling for a long time at a stretch, as much as I love staying at hotels/BnBs or even hostels, it feels nice to stay in someones house in a local area, have some pet company maybe and get some work done, so all this in combination, house / pet sitting seems ideal now. :)

It's a long time ago, but I've also been a volunteer in a pet shelter in Germany, feeding dogs, taking them for walks, playing etc.)

What can they bring to the assignment

I'm respectful, I treat my friends or other peoples homes and belongings how I would want them to treat mine. I'm tidy and clean, responsible, organised and a good communicator, anything around the house / pets etc. you can be sure I'll keep you updated and posted if anything, and of course feel free to check in/ ask for updates. I really appreciate people opening their houses and hearts to strangers and trusting someone to take care of their much loved furry friends. I'm on top of things, bring in the mail or pick up that important parcel, take out the bins due for collection, water the plants, do light gardening or maintenance, give love and care to the pets making sure they get their food, routines, walks / playtime and cuddles.
