About this sitter

We are an experienced, fit and healthy retired Australian couple looking to housesit a bit as we travel. We have previously house sat in Canada, America, Australia and lived and rented 2 years in Taiwan. We live in Bunbury, Australia, have 4 grandchildren we absolutely adore (and their parents) and spend as much time as possible with in between travelling and doing voluntary work. We have excellent references from previous house sits and have been asked back to do repeat house sits for people. We have used house sitters ourselves while travelling and been bitterely disappointed a couple of times so are even more committed to making your experience with housesitters an enjoyable and trouble free one. We take great pride in our own home and do exactly that for homes we sit. We love animals but now living in a unit complex that doesn't allow animals, no longer have pets ourselves, so minding your pet/s gives us our pet fix. We keep your pets to their normal routine so as to keep their stress levels to absolute minimum while they are apart from you.

Why they want to house sit

We love house sitting as it not only allows us to travel more but it allows us to become part of a community. While we love travelling we are not very good "tourists"! We love meeting people more and soaking up the atmosphere of new places. We have made and continue to have friends we have made from house sitting. Some have even visited us in Australia. While house sitting helps make travel affordable we don't use it as the main focus and have in the past carried out home repairs, car servicing and repairs, fixed appliances such as snow plows , new element for stove, gardening etc all at our expense. We do this as a way of showing our thanks and appreciation for you trusting us with your home and pets. It's our small way of giving back.
