An animal-loving couple on a career break

About this sitter

Our names are Eleanor & Giancarlo, we are a young married couple who met in medical school. We are currently on a career break from working as doctors, having just moved back from a few years living in Australia. We are trying to make the most of our time off work by doing some travelling, and house-sitting seemed like the perfect way to do this. We are responsible and reliable, and know the importance of prompt and clear communication when trusting someone with your home and pets.

Why they want to house sit

House-sitting seems like a fantastic way to see different parts of the country as a different pace from a standard holiday, and getting to meet so many sweet animals is a complete plus for us. We love taking care of animals, and love getting to know each one's personality and individual needs.

Their experience

Eleanor grew up with cats and home, and we both have our own cat, currently in the care of friends. Whilst in Australia, we missed an animal presence so much we volunteered as cat foster parents, and took in 4 animals over the course of 6 months. These cats often needed a lot of TLC, and sometimes were on medications and special diets, so these are things we are comfortable and familiar with managing. By the time we leave Australia in April, we will have completed two house-sits, for both cats and dogs, so will be even more familiar with the process.

What can they bring to the assignment

We are responsible, caring & experienced when it comes to looking after animals with additional needs, such as medication or special diets. We are good communicators, and know how keeping closely in touch can provide peace of mind to homeowners. We are respectful, both of people's homes & of their pets, understanding that it may take some time and wooing to win them over.
