About this sitter
Retired solicitor and wife, Simon & Verity (both mid 70's), fit and active, non-smokers and social drinkers who live in Adelaide, South Australia.
We have owned our own homes in London and Adelaide, are keen gardeners and consider ourselves houseproud, honest and conscientious. We both love travelling and living in new places and minding pets is a bonus for us as we don't have any of our own now. Our cat "emigrated" from England with Simon and led a happy life with us, even living on a houseboat for a time!
Why they want to house sit
We both love travelling and to combine it looking after a home with pets is the best of both worlds. Home comforts, a pet to cuddle and exploring new surroundings and cultures.
Their experience
Very. We have travelled extensively throughout Australia and Europe since we retired in 2007 and have now done more than 65 housesits over the past seventeen years and have been invited back to nearly every home we have minded. We have done housesits in Italy, France, Switzerland, Germany and England and of course many in Australia, including quite a number of repeat visits.

Experience, trustworthiness and dependability. Your home, garden and pets will be looked after as if they were our own.

Lovely couple which makes you feel in very good hands!
Simon and Verity stayed in my small house in Tuscany countryside, looking after my cat Ariel for about ten days in April 2024. Since the first call, I immediately felt at ease – they are a lovely couple, with a very good and positive energy, and their warm smiles speak for them. It was really easy to find an agreement on the schedule, and since we confirmed the sit quite a while in advance, I really appreciated them keeping in contact from time to time before their arrival. As they are pet and home owners as well, they asked me a lot of questions about the house and Ariel, leaving nothing to chance – they definitely know what a host needs, and how to take care of a house and cats. During their stay, they kept regularly in contact, sending pictures and updates, showing that Ariel really enjoyed their company. When I came back, the house was perfectly clean, Ariel was at ease, and a wonderful flower was on my table. I did not get the chance to meet them again when I came back, as our schedule did not match, but we had lunch together and I feel blessed to have met such goodhearted people. I definitely recommend them as pet and house sitters.
