Why they want to house sit
I LOVE experiencing life as a local and I feel housesitting offers a very authentic experience. Also, I am currently unable to have any pets of my own so caring for your beloved animals would be delightful!

I have been a traveling innkeeper for over 13 years where I am responsible for many properties ( maintenance, safety) and often times care of animals, swimming pools, hot tubs, landscape and gardens. I assure safety and cleanliness. I have also enjoyed housesitting opportunities where I cared for dogs, cats, sheep, fish, cows, birds, chickens and even a worm farm!
What can they bring to the assignment
I am a certified Master Gardener and enjoy maintaining a garden or landscape. Knowledgeable of houseplant care. Great at problem solving and keeping homeowners updated and informed while they are away. I can travel last minute to most any location without issue. Love having your fur babies to keep me company.

Tuxedo cat in italy
A real love affair between Tiddles and Cathy. I returned to a very happy (ancient). cat and a house that was more than perfect. Cathy fitted into life here on this little island. The neighbours and friends all appreciated her lovely positive personality and her “joie de vivre”. I came back exhausted to a fridge full of goodies and the most delicious veggie stew that rejuvenated me . She was a treasure and I hope will be able to come again. Best House Sitter Ever
If you are lucky enough to have Cathy Hood answer your house sitting request, do not hesitate. Cathy has so much experience in managing houses and Inns. You just know she is totally responsible, can think on her feet and will manage anything that comes up. In our first conversation she asked all the right questions about expectations, where to find answers, numbers to call. She and her sister Cindy flew from the States to Provence, making their way here on time, as promised and were such a delight to get to know. They were taking care of my kitty while I was away, and Cathy immediately got to know him, making him feel she was his friend and would take care of him. She asked about all his special quirks and habits, and favorite toys, We had a lovely dinner together and the next morning when I left, I never had one moment of concern. I felt like I was leaving my kitty and house with family. She sent photos and we stayed in touch. When I finally got home, the house was cleaner than when I left, there was a delicious (and much appreciated) asparagus casserole in the fridge and my kitty had the shiniest fur ever. I was sad to see them go and hope they come again. EXCELLENT, beyond 5-star house and kitty sitter.
