I'm single, from Queensland, Australia, have my own car, no van, no pets, retired, love spending time chilling with animals and doing very part time voluntary work online at home.
Because house sitting offers the host and the sitter an equitable exchange. In other words, both host and sitter offer something of value. For the sitter, the opportunity to travel (with shelter) and care for animals. For the host, the freedom to leave the nest, worry free, whilst their home and treasured companions are cared for.
My online presence began in October 2022 in Cairns, far north Queensland, Australia, after joining 2 Australian house sitting websites - Aussie House Sitters and Mindahome. Locally, I cared for a very chilled, incredibly sweet Great Dane who adored people; an 18mth lovable Labrador that was so happy when he was going for a 'walky walk'; a playful and very affectionate Cavoodle; and a number of sits caring for host's homes with no pets.
By February 2023, I was invited to sit for hosts residing an hour's drive south of Sydney, in the state of New South Wales (NSW), and care for 2 very, very indoor cats, 1 Turkish Angora, 1 Moggie, 13 chooks and a fish tank. During the sit, I was invited to the host's wedding. Then, the host's travelled across Australia for a 5 mth honeymoon, allowing me the opportunity to closely bond and fall in love with both. It was difficult to leave.
Ten months ago, I completed a sit on 9 acres with 2 horses, 2 dogs, 2 'houdini' style incredibly affectionate Bombay cats, 3 hens, and a fish tank.
Since, I've cared for: an Aussie Shepherd and a Border Collie; a darling rescue Kelpie x; 2 adorable rescue doggies - a very anxious/skittish cattle dog, a Kelpie and a cockatiel; another Kelpie x who was my furbaby soul mate; 2 very independent indoor/outdoor magnificent cats, 1 Bombay who was so loving and, 1 fearless Australian Mist who was just like "Wonder Woman"; another beautiful affectionate Australian Mist cat that knows she's royalty - a princess in fact; 2 of the cutest doggies that just loved to run and play, a Tenterfield Terrier and a King Charles x; 3 of the sweetest Golden Retrievers (brothers) on 3 acres and, a couple of chooks and 1 very royal Chartreux cat, independent as, who was happiest drinking fresh milk for breakfast and accompanying me on daily walks around the property; 1 more (11yo) darling very chilled Border Collie, 4 budgies and a pigeon; 4 enchanting little Cavoodles, Labradoodles that oozed love from every paw and were an absolute pleasure; 2 very sweet and loving Border Collies that filled my heart with joy; 1 4mth puppy Coton de Tulear breed (white as the purest snow, sweet as and so, so cute!) & 2 affectionate adventurous indoor night only cats, 1 Serengeti & 1 Bombay; 2 more cats - 1 skittish handsome independent Manx and, a very loving Siamese/Tonkinese who had her own harness and lead for daily walks (weather permitting) around the backyard; 2 more Labradoodles that only asked for love, cuddles and din dins and constantly put a smile on my face; a 10yo snow white Alaskan Malamute that's infatuated with humans and became my constant loving companion and, a 'foodie' Australian Mist cat with divine green eyes that just loved being brushed.
At my most recent sit, I was on 24 acres with Brahmin cattle, chickens and 2 doggies - 1 miniature Tenterfield Terrier and 1 Jack Russell that loved receiving and giving affection, walking and eating in that order.
My qualities: I am authentic, fun, mature, reliable, responsible, honest, and trustworthy. My life experience allows me to bring expertise and wisdom to every sit.
Some hosts refer to my reviews as 'glowing'. I also offer the contact details of previous hosts you can speak with directly.
My sole focus and priority is ensuring your animals are very well taken care of. And, your home is clean, tidy and welcoming upon your return.
The only thing truly you have to concern yourself with, is enjoying your time away, and leaving the worry and care of your loved ones and property in trusted hands so you don't have to.
