About this sitter

My Scotts-Irish heritage gives me an outgoing personality and a love to explore new places and meet people. I would love the opportunity to spend time traveling and learning about different cultures, people, and countries.
I have lived and worked overseas for 18 years in England, Netherlands, Japan, and Germany and am now a retired educator. I have traveled extensively and done overseas volunteering in Costa Rica and South Africa. I really don’t enjoy being a “tourist” but rather I like living in local villages, meeting and living the local life. My expectations are rather simple as I live a simple life filled with family and friends.
I am an artist and I enjoy all types of music. I find joy in nature and the out-of-doors.

Why they want to house sit

This would allow me the opportunity to experience living in a new environment while caring for someone else’s pet and home. I would cherish their home like it was my own and their pet would be loved.

Their experience

I have no experience housesitting overseas but I have plenty of experience dealing with pets. while raising my 2 children who are now adults, We have always had various pets; cats, dogs, fish, gerbils. I now pet sit for my kids and grandkids when they travel. My son used to have a small farm and I would care for the dogs, chickens, lambs, and cat when they were gone. My daughter has 4 small dogs I have looked after. so, I think you could say animals have always been a part of my life except when I lived overseas.

What can they bring to the assignment

I bring a love of people, enjoyment in experiencing other customs and culture, and an appreciation of nature. I have lived in the desert, on mountains, and raised my kids living on the north Oregon Coast. so, the ocean and mountains are spiritual retreats to me.
I bring a joy and excitement for nature and all living things.
Also, and important for home owners, I am organized and neat and I would be attentive to your home as if it were mine.
