He is a retired chartered engineer, very capable of home repairs having re-built a home once. She is a retired teacher and a very keen gardener.
Why they want to house sit
We are making ourselves homeless in late 2024 until late 2025 while our current house is demolished and a new one built for us.
Their experience
We have only used house sitters in the past when we have had long breaks away, you may disagree but I feel that gives us an insight as to what you may want.

Above and Beyond
Alan and Alison came to look after Rupert the dog and the cats, Elma and Pickle. Most importantly, we came back to happy animals, and notes on their behaviour. Rupert wouldn't settle one evening and Alan walked him at 3am to calm him! The house was left on excellent order and we couldn't have wished for better sitters.

Kindest housesitters by a country mile
Alan and Alison are a lovely kind and upbeat couple. They wanted to help in many other ways beyond just looking after the dog. This kindness can come as a surprise in a mean world. Great house and pet sitters!
We recently had Alan and Alison take care of our home, and since it was our first time using a house sitter, we weren’t sure what to expect. But honestly, we couldn’t be happier with how things went! From the start, they made everything super easy. They were friendly, communicative, and genuinely cared about our home and pets. While we were away, we received a picture of Frejya which made us feel so much more relaxed. Our home was left spotless, and Frejya seemed happy and well-loved when we got back. Highly recommend!
