About this sitter

Hello! We are Gill and Peter, a calm, kind, conscientious couple either side of sixty. We love looking after animals, homes and gardens in rural places.

Why they want to house sit

We sold our house in Devon, UK nearl;y five years ago and have been house sitting as a way of life ever since. Our family situations have recently changed and we are excoited to house sit in mainland Europe!

Their experience

We've done about 80 different house sits, and have been asked back to many. We have some we return to every year. We've looked after cats, dogs, hamsters, guinea pigs, rabbits, horses, hens, donkeys, sheep, Angus cattle, tortoises, fish, and a peacock!

What can they bring to the assignment

Peter is practical, observant, and takes good care of homes and gardens. He tends to take care of things like recycling, security, post etc. Animals usually like him, including nervous ones - perhaps because he is very calm!
Gill has a lifetime of animal experience, and is usually the one who does the organising and communicating.
We both love walking and wild life, and live as lightly as we can.
