About this sitter

Hi! I (Michelle) am 32 years old and originally from Canada but for the past nearly 8 years I have been studying and working around Europe. I started off in the UK, then went to Ireland for a bit, and then I eventually ended up in Italy in October 2020 to pursue a PhD in Earth and Environmental Sciences at the University of Pavia.

Dori is a 30 year old Italian who is educated as a biomedical engineer and currently works remotely as a data scientist. Yes, we are both science nerds :)

Furthermore, we adore all and any kind of animals! And we are both vegans, and have been for many years, primarily for ethical reasons :)

We are looking for a house sit where we can provide comprehensive care for your pets and maintain your home with the same love and attention you would give. Ideally, the assignment would involve a variety of tasks such as feeding and exercising pets, administering any necessary medications, and offering plenty of affection and companionship to keep them happy. Additionally, we would handle routine household tasks like watering plants, collecting mail, taking out the trash, and ensuring the home stays clean and secure. Clear instructions and open communication are important to us, so we can tailor our services to meet the specific needs of your pets and home, giving you peace of mind while you are away.

Why they want to house sit

We both have a love for new experiences and for animals and that's what brought us into house and pet sitting. So far it has been a wonderful way to get exposed to different lifestyles and cultures, and really immerse oneself in a more local experience whilst getting to love up on a furry creature - I meant what more could you want?!
I would love to be a guest in your home and to look after your fur/feather babies whilst you are away :)

Their experience

I (Michelle) have been using TrustedHouseSitters for the past 3 years, and my partner Dori has joined me for the last 2 of those years! So far we have experience looking after both dogs and cats in Italy and England. Before that I often looked after my friends and families pets! I have experience looking after all varieties of pets from shy kittens who really make you work for their love (my favourite kind of work) to an elderly corgi who needed a bit of extra help in his old age and thus had a pretty cool set of wheels that he used to zoom around on our walks. Dori also has experience with birds. He rescued a couple of abandoned baby wild birds and with the advice of a local wildlife rescue, managed to raise them and then released them back into the wild once they were self-sufficient! Pretty cool, right?

We are also very observant and able to recognize and respond to any signs of distress or illness, ensuring your pets remain healthy and happy. We like to provide regular updates, particularly in the form of pictures or videos (did I mention that Dori is a great photographer?!), and open communication to keep you informed and at ease, knowing your pets are in good hands.
