About this sitter

My name is Mike and in June, 2024 I began a new life as a solo slow traveler. I've raised my children to be fine adults, had a long career in corporate accounting, and traveled the United States, mainly in the pursuit of attending a baseball game at every major league stadium. There are four cities to go. Now I mix house sits, hotels, short term apartment rentals, and stays with family as I circle the world.

I am very much a home-body, who prefers sits from two to five weeks long so I can gradually acclimate to my surroundings and grow to be a member of the pack. These sits are not a vacation but a new experience, and I love to walk around the neighborhoods I reside in and notice the differences to America and the things that we have in common. Additionally, I am growing a small online business teaching English as a second language.

Why they want to house sit

I see traveling to different places to pet sit as both quenching my wanderlust and at times emotional therapy. At times it is difficult to be alone, and it is great to now I will have new friends, your pets, in every new location I visit.

Their experience

Found through other online house-sitting services, I have completed five-week-long assignments in Malaysia and Hong Kong. I have also sat for the pets of family and neighbors for up to two weeks in their homes and mine.

What can they bring to the assignment

I will routinely stay in communication with the home owner as to the status of their home and pets, gather and photograph mail if requested, keep a tidy house, water plans and gardens, feed, exercise, dispose of waste, and administer medications if required.
