The eternal traveler looking for a place to make treats, and furry/feathery friends

About this sitter

Somehow I ended up being one of those people who travel - not in a 2-countries a day kind of way, but slow and steady. I've always enjoyed staying in places for a while, getting to know the land, the people, the climate, the culture... You get it. Which is why I think house-sitting is such a great idea.

*IMPORTANT* Due to a foot injury, I'm currently not able to do longer walks, or much heavy lifting, and I need fairly close access to public transportation and/or shopping :)

What I'm hoping for in a house sit is a nice place to stay - "nice" meaning a loved home, I don't have any expectations around size, or much comfort, even, although I do love a kitchen with an oven so I can bake :) - and if there's animal friends around I'd love to take care of them while I'm there. Or plants. Or both.

Why they want to house sit

I've been traveling and living in different parts of the world for the last 10 years, and while I'm continuing to search for that place where I'll put down more permanent roots, I'm hoping to do so in a more sustainable fashion - both for the environment and my wallet ;) I firmly believe in the amazing powers of community, and share economy, so house sitting to me is one of the most brilliant ideas anyone's ever come up with. Helping each other out is what's gonna save the world.

Their experience

Not officially (as in through one of the major platforms), but I've stayed with plenty of people, and/or in their homes for extended amounts of time, most recently with a lovely couple, their four dogs and three cats in Guatemala, who quickly became family - four-legged beings as much as two-legged ones. I'm highly responsible, clean and organized, and I've been told I'm very considerate ;)

What can they bring to the assignment

See above. Plus, I love making treats, so you might have a nice-smelling kitchen and potentially tasty leftovers when you get home (if you're into that kind of stuff, I won't force my baked goods on you ;)). I'm very attentive and caring, and will keep your pets taken care of and your place clean while you're gone.
