About this sitter

A LITTLE ABOUT ME.
Compassionate, intuitive, bright, independent woman who loves animals and has much experience of caring for them, especially dogs and cats.

A good time keeper and excellent at following instructions and adhering to preferred routines. I am good with plants having worked in horticultural nursery and cared for many gardens.

***Have a van for travelling and driving to locations and this can include your favourite walks/beaches/forests for the dogs. The van can accommodate two medium sized dogs or 3 small ones in transit.

WHAT I AM LOOKING FOR IN A HOUSE-SIT
****I am particularly interested in long term sits over the winter months in either the UK or Europe that allow me to bring a very well behaved lurcher girl with me.

I would be happy to look after your home, garden, and pets in accordance with your specific wishes, especially longer term sits

Why they want to house sit

Largely, I absolutely love dogs and seeing new places and exploring the environment. Though I acknowledge that sometimes this is not desired, and a more 'close-to-home' approach is needed, especially with elderly animals who need my presence on site most of the time. I am also happy doing this as it gives me an opportunity to write ( a semi-profession. )

The most honest answer to this question is that winter is quite brutal and I would much rather be pet sitting somewhere where I can distract myself with new things and experiences and enjoy being somewhere to make discoveries.

I would especially welcome an open fire or woodburner if it's a colder climate.

Their experience

Yes. Very.
I have worked on a petting farm teaching Learning Disabled candidates how to care for alpacas, ponies, goats, pigs and geese.

I have also worked extensively as a housekeeper over a period of 7 years ( references available) where I have looked after the client's home and animals ( dogs, chickens, horses).

Crucially, I was working in homes where the standards were high in terms of keeping the house in order. Therefore I am very clean and conscientious.

I have also worked as a professional dog walker.

I am particularly experienced with long dogs ( lurchers/salukis ) who are well known 'escape artists' and I have a keen understanding of their need for being 'on-lead' and having very secure settings for any off-lead activity. But I have also cared for many other breeds; cockapoos, schnauzers, labradors, terriers to name a few and many, many cats.

I am also experienced at administering meds : having also worked as a Professional Carer, looking after people and pets.

What can they bring to the assignment

I can bring peace of mind, comfort, fun and safety.
