Experienced Pet & House Sitter Available in Pennsylvania - Fall 2024

About this sitter

I'm a single nonsmoking woman in my late forties currently living in a small town in southwestern Ohio. Before returning to my hometown in Ohio last year, I previously (for the past two decades) lived in Boston, Massachusetts, where I worked for several nonprofit organizations and received my bachelor's degree in English and philosophy from Boston College. I've also lived and studied abroad in Oxford, England and Amsterdam, the Netherlands, and love to travel and meet people from other countries and cultures.

After pet and house sitting this summer just outside of Paris, France, I'm currently searching for a sit in Pennsylvania, where I'm planning to knock on doors to help get out the vote ahead of the November 5th general election. I'm flexible regarding the exact start and end dates, but ideally would like to find a sit beginning this month (September 2024) and lasting through Election Day (or possibly longer).

I have personal and professional experience caring for both cats and dogs (and also plants), including elderly animals who require daily medications. I regularly return to Boston several times a year to pet and house sit for repeat clients there, and have just recently begun offering my services in other areas, both in the US and abroad.

Mutual trust and communication are important, and I promise to care for your home and beloved pets as if they were my own and send regular photos and updates!

Beyond this fall, I'm also frequently available to house sit on the East Coast (preferably in or around Boston, Philadelphia, and New York), Chicago, and the San Francisco Bay Area. I'd also like to find another long-term sit (ideally 1-3 months) in Europe (particularly France, Italy, and/or Portugal) for 2025.

Why they want to house sit

I already have extensive experience providing professional house and pet sitting services in Boston, where I lived for the past twenty years. After leaving Boston last year to be closer to my family in Ohio, I've decided to pursue my lifelong dream of traveling more, both in the US and internationally.

I also dearly love animals, and had two cats of my own - Ivan, who passed away from kidney disease at the age of 13.5, and his sister, Katerina, who passed away last year at the age of 18. After saying goodbye to Katerina, I haven't adopted any more animals of my own, but I still want to have animals in my life, and house sitting is a great way to combine my love of both animals and travel.
