About this sitter

Hello. We are Karen and Garrett, tidy, loving pet sitters with abundant experience caring for pets around the world.

Karen spent 4 years as a volunteer diver at the Newport Aquarium, feeding and observing the fish and other aquatic critters for health issues, interacting with patrons, and cleaning the big tanks from the inside. This included weekly dives in a tank full of rays, eels and huge sharks. Yikes!

A former executive in the financial services sector, Garrett also served as President of the Board of Four Paws for Ability, a US based non-profit that provides service dogs to disabled children around the world.

Garrett now works seasonally as a tour director, meaning Karen often sits without him. Karen works part time for TrustedHousesitters.

We love animals, meeting new people, exploring new places and being of service. We'd love to care for and play with your furry friends as part of our travels. We're happy to communicate as often as you'd like while you're away.

Why they want to house sit

We love both animals and travel, and pet/house sitting gives us the opportunity to stay in homes in various locations while loving, caring for, and playing with other people's pets. We can't have pets of our own right now, so we do the next best thing: temporarily adopting other people's pets from time to time!

Their experience

We are tidy, non-smoking animal lovers who've had pets for most of our lives, volunteered with animal-based non-profit organizations and have completed over 60 pet sits for more than 100 pets around the world.

* We've given insulin shots, pet pills, inhalers, eye drops, special food and ear medication to furry friends. We've even bushed a dog's teeth every day.

* We've shared our lives with 10 dogs, 4 cats, a mouse and fish. Our most recent pets were 2 Shelties and a rescued kitten, all of who lived 12-18 years. We have extensive experience with both older pets and energetic puppies and kittens.

* We owned homes for over 20 years, so we understand what it takes to protect and care for homes and property. We'll take wonderful care of both your pets and your home. We have the pet and home sitting experience you need!
