College professor looking for house to sit

About this sitter

I am a professor at Edmonds College, live on a sailboat, and enjoy being in the outdoors. It's always nice to spend some time off the boat exploring new areas. I have lots of experience caring for various animals (including having lived with dogs, cats, chickens, and birds in my youth). I am a responsible, quiet, and tidy person, and I will treat your home well. I love hiking, cross-country skiing, sailing, and discovering novel places. I do need reliable good quality internet.

I love to explore and want to stay in safe homes.

Their experience

I have done many roles like this before, including having lived in a church during college in exchange for room and board (I was essentially their after-hours on-site person). I was also a live-in volunteer at a school in England while getting my Ph.D. I was one of their after-hours, on-site check-in coordinators for new residents. I have also done four house-sitting assignments through this website.

What can they bring to the assignment

Reliability and responsibility. I am a good communicator and will let you know if anything happens, take good care of your home, and follow through with what we mutually agreed to. As an employee of Washington State, I am already vetted with a criminal history background check. Depending on the dates and the location, I may have my adult daughter (currently attending college), or my girlfriend (who also works in academia) coming with me too. If this works out, I will let you know ahead of time. I don’t smoke or use drugs. Overall, I am a reliable, quiet, and easy going person who loves animals, nature, and exploring new places.
