About this sitter

We are Fiona and Paul from ‘A Pair of Travellers’ who base ourselves in Canberra Australia and are currently full time travellers. At the beginning of 2024 we completed a 2 year lap of Australia and are now in Europe for two years. During our travels, we have completed 17 separate pet/house sits in Australia and one in England. We have also 3 sits confirmed in England and Scotland already for 2024. As pet owners we have owned multiple pets and as sitters we have cared for dogs, cats, fish, chooks, geese, sheep and alpacas to name a few.

Why they want to house sit

We plan to travel for the next eight years around the world and are looking to mix up our travel between house sits, family, cruising and Airbnb. Our main reason though for pet sitting is to enjoy looking after pets and the ability to stay in one place and experience local towns or villages and surrounding areas.

Their experience

We have owned pets all our lives and miss having them, so this is the next best thing! We have experience with dogs (big and small), cats (indoor and outdoor), birds (aviaries and caged), guinea pigs, rabbits, sheep, alpacas, geese, and last but not least chickens. Spending some time with your pet will help us fill our need for animal cuddles! What can they bring to the assignment

Before we retired, we worked in Project Delivery and Air Traffic Management and have been at various times home owners, renters and landlords. We have recent experience looking after other people's pets having undertaken over 17 sits in the last two years around Australia with two in England. We also have experience with swimming pools, gardens, small acreages, management of staff and rain water management. We are both avid gardeners. Paul is both an Australian and New Zealand citizen. We are non drinkers (except for toasts at weddings!) and do not smoke.
We are happy to have a chat and answer any of your questions, and we can discuss agreed parameters of the sit. This includes how you want your pet loved and looked after while you're away, as well as looking after the house/property.
We are able to provide current Police Checks and references for the numerous sits we have completed, mainly on AussieHouseSit and Trustedhousesitting.
