Loving Family House Sitting around the World

About this sitter

We call ourselves the 6pk, we are a loving adventurous family who are looking for homes to house sit while we take a year to travel around the world together. My hope as a mother is that we get to experience the world as immersed into the local culture as we can and what better way than to live in a locals house!! We have two dogs of our own back in Idaho, and a very nice home that we will be trusting someone to watch for us while we embark on this incredible journey together; so we will be looking to provide the kind of loving and expert care that we expect someone to be giving the things we love back at home!!
We will be homeschooling our kids as we make our way around the globe, looking for a Word Education to broaden our kids hearts and minds as we see and learn lots of new cultures and people!!
We have had dogs, rabbits, fish and cats over the years and are comfortable with all. I personally am a huge plant lover with lots of house plants and a lovely manicured outdoor garden, so if it’s plants or a garden you need looked after I’m happy to report that that’s a love of mine. And William (aka Dad) is an expert lawn maintenance guy. He worked as a landscaper for years as a young adult and now takes expert care of our 5acres all on his own. Happy to provide pictures of our lawn and gardens if that helps!!
We have traveled with our kids all of their lives for Spring Break, always staying at VRBO rentals. We have a 5-star renter rating!!! We have always been invited back, have never broken anything or had any issue while renting. We’ve even been sent gifts from owners after checking out…my husband and I expect our house to be clean and well cared for by our kids, and we treat all houses we stay in as our own, with love and care!! Our children’s are respectful and great guests always! I have requested references from our past VRBO hosts and will post as they hopefully come in.
*I think it’s worth noting that I am a small business owner, 20 years; it’s a luxury bedding, bath & mattress store Linen Alley. And my husband is a realtor in our valley for 20 years as well. :)

Why they want to house sit

We want to house sit because we are looking for an experience outside of just a “vacation”, I want to learn and experience the culture of each place we live in throughout this special year together. This is our chance to see the world outside of Idaho and the USA. To meet different people, to learn about their culture and experience the world together!
Our family is getting older quickly and our time together is becoming shorter and shorter…but this is a chance to experience something as a family that we will remember forever!! House sitting is a chance to make this dream come true!

Their experience

We have never house sat as a family. But my husband and I had a couple house/pet sitting jobs before we were married while still in college. We house sat a house with dogs and horses, and dogs on several occasions.
And as a family we have rented many different types of homes around the Caribbean (especially) but also in all throughout the mountains of Utah, Montana and Idaho.
All 4 kids attend a small private community school where they are responsible as students for: chickens, Angora goats, cats and a working and producing vegetable garden/greenhouse that are all permanent residents on their school campus. They have animal and garden chores daily that rotate and then as a family we have farm and garden chores as well during school breaks, holidays, etc. I will post references from their farm and garden teacher.

What can they bring to the assignment

We will bring love and warmth and care and enthusiasm because that’s who we are a loving, fun and cozy family who care about each other and our place, wherever we are!!
