Well-travelled, reliable and responsible family of 3 from Australia

About this sitter

We are a well travelled and responsible multi-national family of four that live on the Sunshine Coast in Australia. We are taking some long overdue holiday leave and travelling to the U.S. Europe and Asia between July to December 2024. Coming from the UK, New Zealand and Australia, we love the outdoors, staying healthy and taking our dogs with us for walks at the beach or in the bush. We live on a quiet acreage block in the hinterland, have poultry, and enjoy exploring new places and having new experiences. Only three of us will be coming on this trip (our eldest is staying in Australia to study medicine), and our youngest (aged 12) has grown up with and loves animals. We often look after our neighbours dogs and cats, and have experience with dogs that have anxious behaviours. As we work in medical, science and engineering disciplines, we are attuned to animal welfare and are respectful to our environment.
We live on acreage we are also pretty used to general gardening and property maintenance, and since we have someone housesitting our home and pets whilst we are away, we would treat your home and pets like we expect anyone to housesit our home!

Why they want to house sit

We are currently travelling for about six months, and really miss our daughter and dogs! We have already done several housesits in the U.S., and definitely feel more comfortable in a proper home away from home where we can experience the 'real' life away from the tourists rather than staying in hotels in the city centres.

Their experience

We have our own pets (a labradoodle and a staffy/labrador cross, 5 chickens and ducks), and have regularly looked after our neighbour's extremely anxious dog. We have also looked after friends dogs and cats when they have been away overseas, have dealt with numerous emergency situations (such as snake or lizard bites, fox/wild dog attacks) so we are quite comfortable with looking after dogs, cats and birds.
We have been travelling through the U.S. since July and have already completed several housesits with 5 star reviews. We are respectful and responsible as can be seen from our references.

What can they bring to the assignment

As we are currently juggling some school work and study amongst our travels, we will spend several hours in the home to spend with the pets. We enjoy taking dogs for a walk, and are respectful and responsible with your pets and home.
