Energetic, animal loving, meticulous mature lady looking for housesit in either Europe or Africa

About this sitter

I am a single 54yr old lady. A runner, mountaineer and hiker. I love animals. I grew up on a farm in South Africa with my own horse, chickens, sheep, cows and cats. I'm looking for a housesit to care for animals. I dont mind if its rural as I am happy to walk into villages - up to 10km. I lived in France for a year, Netherlands for 6months and Scotland for 14yrs. I've travelled extensively across Europe, South America and Africa. I am a friendly independant and very caring. I do drive with a full clean license but I am happiest walking. I am a meticulous person, clean and tidy. I've never smoked, I don't like music, I'm happy to just sit in nature and read. I hold dual British, South African citizenship.

Why they want to house sit

I have recently sold up in Scotland and am travelling Europe for 3 months until I return to travel around Southern Africa. I am currently studying towards my A2 French exam and Travel journalism. I would love a home to take care of animals, sit and read, study and listen to nature. If its possible to go for long walks or hikes I will be out in the day walking preferably with dogs. I've also had animals and know the restrictions of having them in terms of going on holiday. If I can help someone out so they can go on holiday without having to put their pet in kennels or worry about them then I would be acheiving something.

Note from February 2025 to Aug 2025 I am available to house sit in Southern Africa. I will have my own car then.

Their experience

Growing up in South Africa I housesat for numerous people. I have not house sat in Europe as such however I owned my own home for 34yrs and know how to keep a place neat and tidy. I can handle most basic emergencies and I have had dogs, cats and chickens my entire life, always rescues. Currently, until 31st Oct I am fostering a dog from the SSPCA. I am very experienced with administering medicine to animals.
