Alaskan couple wants to house-sit in Mexico

About this sitter

We are a retired couple with a home and small farm in Alaska which we have owned and cared for for 32 years, which means we are well acquainted with the challenges that can come with maintaining a home. We have had house-sitters care for our home many times when we have traveled and think we'd make good house-sitters ourselves. We know how nice it is to come home to a clean home with everything in order. We also know how when things at home go awry, such as we once had bears in the sheep pen during a housesit, good communication between house-sitter and owner makes a bad situation better. In our case we were able to muster by phone local anti-bear forces to help the house-sitter.

No doubt, if we were to housesit for you, wed treat your home even better than we do our own!   It's a tenet my grandfather taught me:  to leave a place in better condition than when you arrive.

Why they want to house sit

We have been to different parts of Mexico several times in the past and want to see the Jalisco area. Travel is expensive and resort life is not what we are interested in. If we are lucky enough to find a house to care for while visiting, we would, indeed, be lucky. We are interested in housesitting in Jalisco especially as we have relatives in there.

Their experience

This will not be our first experience house-sitting. We have cared for friends houses and pets here in Alaska. We have cared for two houses in Ajijic in the past two years, and it was very nice. They had wonderful pets that we fell for instantly and there were no problems. We have had a lot of experience dog sitting, where the dogs have come to live with our dogs, and us. We have dealt with all the typical household "disasters" and feel confident that we can maintain your home as if it were ours.
