About this sitter

My wife and I are kindred spirits, We love new horizons that take us out of our daily routine. The idea of looking after somebody else’s home just seems to make sense and even more so the privilege of caring for your extended family members (your pets).

As we get a little older and creep into our late fifties we find ourselves in a position where we can explore different ways of living.
We’ve sold our traditional bricks and mortar house and downsized and this gives us more freedom. We have a property that we rent out so totally understand the value of a good tenant.
We’re not getting any younger and want to embrace new opportunities while we’re fit and healthy.

Why they want to house sit

House sitting aligns with our vision. We adore animals and the comfort they bring . We get to see new places while helping other people have the freedom they also need. Whilst we’re “comfortable” the trade seems to make so much sense. You get somebody you can trust to take care of all the things that matter to you and we get fresh outlook on life .

Their experience

We are experienced. To be totally transparent our experience is only with family and friends. Mindmyhouse just seems a natural progression. All of the time spent looking after friends and family homes has only bolstered our mindset that this is something we to expand to broaden our horizons.
We are both experienced in looking after pets at home and professionally and have experience administering medication too.

What can they bring to the assignment

I think to myself, “ what would I want from a house sitter”
I’d want honest, considerate, meticulously tidy animal lovers. I’d want a more mature person or couple that enjoy a slower pace of life. I’d want somebody that I could trust implicitly. I’d also want a person that’s a great communicator, one that responds when I need a respond.
It could sound like I’d be expecting to much, but if I was going to trust somebody with my home and pets all of these traits would be a minimum requirement.
I’m also very practical so any little jobs that might pop up could be dealt with. Knowing how to deal with a leaking pipe or other similar household repairs has saved me a small fortune over the years.
The main things you would get from us though is respect for your home and enthusiasm to make this arrangement a successful one.
