About this sitter

I'm especially interested in exploring more of France, especially the French countryside (but I am also open to hearing of similar opportunities in other countries), and so think that housesitting will give me a chance to connect with various areas long enough to get to know them a bit. I've spent some time in France already and think this will be a great way to see more. I'm retired from work so my schedule is flexible. I live in Seattle, Washington, in the U.S. I'm a homeowner myself and have lots of experience taking care of a house.

Why they want to house sit

This seems to me to be the logical way to see an area. I like to travel and explore but at the same time, I like having a "home" to return to rather than always being on the road so I think housesitting gives me the best of both worlds.

Their experience

I have housesat for friends here at home and taken care of their animals but I am just signing up for the first time on MindMyHouse. I've also had dogs and cats of my own through the years and, since I don't currently have any pets of my own, I think of this as a great way to have some sweet furry friends in my life again.

What can they bring to the assignment

I've owned my own home for many years and I've also been a landlord of several rental houses so I have a lot of experience taking care of property and I think of myself as a responsible person. I have also had my own gardens and helped friends with theirs and still spend time when I can now working in my yard, which I enjoy.
