Pet Loving Family Happy to Make New Furry Friends

Hi I'm Kay. Lifelong animal lover and gardening enthusiast. I have fond memories of my childhood with 10 dogs in a large back garden backed onto a Country Park. I have been a cat owner since my teens and absolutely love looking after them (My lovely Cat Sophie lived to 18 years!) We adopted a neighbour's Cat a few years back as she was going to be sent to a cat home. Initially she was nervous but she grew to just love all the attention she got from my children. She was so beautiful but succumbed to a tumour last year and we miss having pets around.

Why they want to house sit

Eventually we would like to see enough areas in the UK to decide where we want to live long term and purchase a new home. I am currently a homeowner and rent out my house in the West Midlands and I also receive income from a few Airbnb properties further North. I trained as a Software Developer a few years ago and worked for a Private Healthcare company. Previously I worked in various positions in the NHS (Mental Health and also Birmingham Children's Hospital) as well as admin positions for Birmingham City Council.

Now that I am a Stay at Home Mom of 3 Home-schoolers - ages 12, 9 and 6 (plus one on the way) , I am in more of a routine and would love to have the opportunity to look after dogs and cats again while we explore different areas of the UK. The kids and I love gardening and growing our own food. I would love to homestead in the future. We have lived in Vienna, Austria for several years so we speak German and English. We are very well travelled and have lots of family in Toronto, Canada, Jamaica, Austria and Germany.
My partner Aaron is Nigerian and brought up in Italy so speaks fluent Italian, English and Yoruba. He also grew up with dogs and in his teens in Italy he loved working with horses - taking care of them, grooming them, mucking out the stables and taking them for walks. He is calm natured and an early morning person and very much a 'homebody' who likes to stay in. He misses all the farm animals he cared for but also has as passion working and caring for Disabled Adults and has worked in Care Homes since he moved to the UK while he completed his Masters in Computer Science. He is very passionate about Football and used to run a kids football club. He is also a clean-freak and loves to sweep and mop and clean to de-stress each evening (even if me and the kids have already tidied, lol).

Their experience

While me and the kids love growing a multitude of plants and veggies, he loves the 'hard graft' and enjoys mowing lawns, and is especially good at hedge-trimming and making places look organised.

Until now we have only previously house sat for family members and friends while they travelled abroad. We have also had family members stay over as house-sitters who came and looked after our pets while we were on holiday.

What can they bring to the assignment

If you have dogs, cats, chickens, horses or any animal or have a garden or lots of plants, and would love them to be looked after with lots of love, affection and attention every day, then we have bucket loads of love and energy to give and would be happy to take care of them while you explore the rest of the globe!
We will respect your property, take good care of your plants and animals and keep your house clean!
