About this sitter

Hi, I'm Steve an early-retired animal-lover who is experienced at looking after most animals, but not snakes or reptiles. There's always the chance to learn more!

I want to make myself available to people like myself and my wife, when we got let down by another house sitter, we desperately needed the help of someone who would look after our house and pets.

If we can bring our dogs, my wife will be happy to come with me to help too.

Why they want to house sit

I use house sitters myself and, as i said above, we were saved by another house sitter when we were in a desperate situation....

So, I'm paying it backwards, forwards whatever way around! I don't want this to be a constant, globe trotting role. I want it to be when people "need someone" - I'm hoping to be the solution you need.

I've had dogs all of my life, cats for over 30 years. I've owned small holdings with horses, goats, chickens etc. I've lived and worked on farms and have fond memories of helping out with lambing time.

When i moved to Spain initially, i took 3 dogs and 1 cat. As a registered disaster carer for one of the largest animal charities in our area, i looked after up to 12 other dogs at one point and, in our time over there, we fostered about 50 dogs and ended up adopting 3 other dogs and a cat, as our own pets "moved to the big, big farm" ?

What can they bring to the assignment

Mainly patience, genuine love of animals and the will to look after your home as if it were my own. I'll treat your house, pets, garden as if it were my own.

Oh, and usually i being are least one pocket full of treats. For the pets, not you. Sorry!
