About this sitter

I’m an animal lover. I’ve had dogs all my life, St Bernards and Labradors (not all together!) I am without a dog at the moment. I am recently returned to Cheltenham, my home town, after living in Spain and France for the last 20 years. I’m retired and now live alone. I am looking for opportunities to see new places (in the UK initially)

Why they want to house sit

I would like to visit new places, possibly meet new people and enjoy the company and care of animals again. (my last dog died 3 years ago).
A visit to another part of the UK would be a welcome change from my usual home routine.

Their experience

I've done a couple of house/pet sitting assignments. In 2012, when my husband was alive, we took care of 2 holiday gites in south west France for the summer months. There were no animals involved.
Later I looked after a French bulldog in my own home in France for a week. He was a troubled little chap, having been in and out of rescue centres for a while but was eventually successfully adopted.
After returning to the UK this summer I had an elderly labrador stay with me in my own home while her family went on holiday. she stayed with me for just over a couple of weeks.

What can they bring to the assignment

I'm very comfortable with animals. My experience is mainly with dogs but i got to know my friends cats very well in France. I've also kept chickens, guinea pigs and quail! I used to ride horses when I was younger so I'm not afraid of handling them but I'm not experienced in their care. I'm also a very passionate and experienced gardener so I could care for clients gardens if they wished.
