About this sitter

Hi, we are James and Ruth from Cardiff. I (James) am a musician who works as a freelance moulding and casting set-builder. My partner Ruth works as an engineer in the satellite industry. We are active people who enjoy hiking, camping, and climbing. We are also animal lovers and enjoy pet-sitting for friends regularly, including handling a reactive dog. We keep a very clean home and would do the same with any house we were sitting.

In a house-sit we are looking for the opportunity to spend time in new places with new animals. We would hope to explore the surrounding area but also spend quiet time in the home, cooking, reading, and pursuing our creative hobbies (crochet, sketching, writing, etc).

We want to house-sit to give us the opportunity to explore new places and meet new animal friends.

Their experience

As a pair and individually we have house-sat for friends plenty of times. This includes looking after cats, dogs, and chickens. In the past I have experience looking after large gardens and horses for local families when they were on holiday.

What can they bring to the assignment

We are very passionate about looking after animals properly. We are patient and empathetic getting to know new pets and will always follow the owners instructions (you're the expert after all).

We are a clean and house-proud pair who would seek to keep your home tidy and well looked after in our time there.

We are both handy people who are comfortable being flexible with our duties should the need arise.

We are communicative and will be happy to check in with house-owners whenever they require. We will be happy to quickly respond to any texts or emails.
