About this sitter

I am a 53 year old recently divorced mom to 3 amazing kids . 2 are in college and one will start this fall . They are my pride and joy ! I have loved every minute of raising them . I am an adventurer. I love hiking . I adore animals and have my entire life . I’m a sensitive old soul but have a young spark in me that seeks travel and adventure . I would love to be able to house sit /pet sit while enjoying the local area and discovering possibly a new culture or city or country vibe . Each life experience teaches us something and I have so much more to learn .

Why they want to house sit

I’ve never ventured into the house sitting realm but have spend thousands of hours caring for rescue animals and of course my own animals . I am entering a new stage of my life with my youngest going off to college in the fall . I’ve had my fair share of corporate jobs and am looking for a bit more adventure and travel . As a stay at home mom for many years I’m used to doing home tasks , errands and caring for our pets

Their experience

I have worked with animals since age 13 formally volunteering at my local animal shelter every Sat for 8 hours . I mostly cared for and walked and cleaned and bathed dogs and cats . At age 14 I took a job as a kennel person at my
Local vet . I worked there for 4 years thru high school part time . Full time in summer . Caring for dogs , cats , nail trims , giving meds , bathing , helping in surgery . Animals continued to be my main stay in college and advocated on many levels for proper animal care . After College I found myself volunteering again every Wed night at a local no kill shelter . I found myself always finding homes for strays or they found me . I have had the pleasure of having a wonderful disabled choc lab who was in a wheelchair chair since age 2. She lived to be 12.5 under my care . Our family has had a guinea pig ,, 2 hamsters , a hedgehog , an indoor bunny , and 2 frogs . We now have 2 indoor cats and my recent dog Jake sadly passed away this past May at approx age 12.5 ( shown in pics ) . There’s not enough time to describe the way I feel about animals. They are part of my identity. If you only need a house sitter I have been a homeowner 20+ years raising our 3 adult kids .

What can they bring to the assignment

I have a tremendous appreciation for the antics of animals .They are always trying to show you their funny side . Even at their worst behaviors they are truly loved . I pamper my own pets and treat them like my own kids which is kinda spoiling them . I walk in rain , snow , mud . I can take them to the beach ,,- walk in the woods or on a city block . I take my own cats for a walk in a covered stroller . I believe animals need proper stimulation and physical exercise to live their best life . If you only need a house sitter I am kind, courteous . I love to talk with new people and can do many household chores if need be . I’ve been a stay at home mom
