Hi, I’m May, with a Master of Marketing and over 4 years of experience in brand and marketing across diverse sectors - travel, wellness, non-profit, fitness, and environmental stewardship through adventure tourism - I am now taking a career break to explore my long-awaited travel dreams. With a strong blend of creativity and strategic thinking, I’ve successfully led projects focused on sustainability and brand development. Jonathan (Johnny):

My partner of 4 years - Jonathan (Johnny) is a chef, professional musician, and avid traveller with a passion for exploring new places and cultures. Unfortunately, our current living situation doesn't permit us to have dogs, so house-sitting is the perfect way for Johnny to get his "dog fix"! Johnny is incredibly attentive to animals, treating them with the same care and responsibility he would give a child.

The only thing we really need is reliable Wi-Fi. Everything else is a bonus!

Why they want to house sit

We love the idea of combining our love for animals with our desire to travel around New Zealand and explore destinations overseas. To us, a house truly feels like a home when animals are part of it. They bring joy, warmth, and a happy energy that we cherish. House sitting offers us the perfect opportunity to immerse ourselves in new places while caring for furry companions as if they were our own.

With our own experience as devoted pet owners of two cats - Layla, a cuddly Burmese, and Akira, a rescued kitten we nursed back to health - we understand how important it is to find trustworthy, compassionate sitters. We offer peace of mind by providing loving, responsible care for both your pets and your home.

Their experience

My partner Johnny and I are lifelong pet lovers with extensive experience caring for both cats and dogs. We share our home with two wonderful cats—Layla, a 9-year-old Burmese I’ve had since she was a kitten, and a rescue kitten whom we recently nursed back to health after finding her in poor condition. Our daily care routines involve feeding, grooming, playtime, and managing different health needs with love and patience.

Throughout our lives, both Jonathan and I have always been surrounded by pets, developing a strong sense of responsibility and a deep understanding of animal behaviour and well-being. In addition to caring for our own pets, we’ve provided reliable pet-sitting services, including looking after Chopper (a dog) and Mojo (a cat) together in their shared home environment. Our approach emphasises attentiveness, warmth, and consistency, ensuring pets feel safe, comfortable, and loved while their owners are away.

Additionally, I’ve grown up around horses and other farm animals, as close family members lived on farms, and my sisters are avid horse riders and owners. This has made me extremely comfortable and fond of caring for farm animals, and I truly enjoy being around them.
