About this sitter

Hello! My name is Lauren, and I’m a remote worker with a background in ecology, wildlife biology, and animal care. I’ve worked with a variety of animals in sanctuaries, barns, and zoos, and I truly enjoy being around all creatures—big and small! I now work with biological databases, which allows me to work from pretty much anywhere with WiFi. I love traveling and learning about other cultures, exploring nature, and spending time outdoors. I’m especially drawn to house sits with easy access to nature! Since I don’t travel overseas with a car, I am looking for house sits that I can access without one. If there are pets to care for, even better—I’d love to keep them company!

Why they want to house sit

I want to house sit because I love traveling, and my remote work now gives me the flexibility to spend time in new places! House sitting provides a way to explore different areas while also providing a sense of home along the way. I think the best way to experience a new place is to live there as a local, even if for a short period of time. I enjoy discovering local gems (be it a natural trail or a coffee shop), experiencing new surroundings, and meeting great people! It’s seems to be a interesting way to see the world while helping homeowners have peace of mind while they’re away.

Yes! I have done professional pet-sitting locally off and on since I started graduate school (about 7 years). Because I don't have my own animals right now, I am often able to pet sit in-house while owners are away.

What can they bring to the assignment

Having worked with everything from giraffes, to monkeys, to snakes, to wolves and tigers, I am comfortable caring for pets of all kinds! In addition to being a responsible and reliable professional, working remotely allows me to be present in the home during the day to keep an eye on things. Most importantly, I aim to give homeowners peace of mind, knowing their home and pets are in caring and capable hands while they’re away!
