About this sitter

I'm a semi-nomadic retired solo traveler. I started my housesitting/petsitting journey with my first placement in Aberdeen, Scotland -- during a cold, windy January with a dog that did not want to go outside in the weather! But we persevered. Despite that beginning, I loved becoming part of a community and caring for a pet as part of my travel experience. Since then, I've taken care of dogs and cats, have done gardening, and also served as a personal chef. I am trustworthy, reliable, tidy and mature. I've been a homeowner, pet owner, mother and have had a variety of careers. I can handle most emergencies with a calm demeanor and generally just get on with whatever needs to be done.

Why they want to house sit

I understand the importance of our pets and the relationship with them. I've had cats and dogs in my life and all of them have a special place in my heart. I think you can tell a lot about people by their pet/human relationships and I'm always curious about them. House sitting expands the possibilities with animals/locations/experiences and I'm open to all of them.

Their experience

Yes. I have taken care of pets of friends and family for years, but only started doing it through a platform in 2024. I completed multiple dogsits in the United Kingdom that winter/spring, and then continued my journey with animals upon returning to my "home" town of Portland, Oregon. My last major assignment was a mini dachshund with a spinal injury that I cared for until he had surgery (he's great now). I became friends with that dog's owner and can provide references (through Trusted Housesitters and Housecarers.com).

What can they bring to the assignment

Flexibility, maturity and a commitment to your home and animal(s). Since I'm a solo traveler, I've learned to adapt to challenging situations and diverse neighborhoods, cities, and countries. I always leave a house clean (sometimes even cleaner than I found it), and sometimes a pie in the oven.
