Tiny old house, two cats and a stable internet connection. Whole summer 2025 in northern Finland, anyone?

About this assignment

I hope you don't get bored easily, not much entertainment around here, and that you don't mind that the house is really basic, with modern conveniences, though. I also hope that you make the welfare of my cats a priority. I hope this place makes you feel at home.

What responsibilities are required of the house sitter

The main responsibility is my two spoiled cats. Feeding them and checking that everything is ok. They go in and out as they please, but most likely sleep very close to you. Other responsibility is the lawn/grass, but I might find someone local to take care of that if needed. My 2 dogs travel with me.

What are the good features of the property and location

Everything else is old except the fiber optic cable internet - I need it for work as well. The house is located about 6 kms from the Pyhäjoki village and closest grocery store, 22 kms to closest town. - Raahe. Rural area, some distance from the neighbours. The nature is all around, the sea shore a few kms away, plenty of forest and berries to pick. Also some berry bushes in the garden. 10 minutes walk to main road (road nbr 8) where you can catch a bus to Raahe or Oulu if needed. I can provide a bike if you like. Own car would be practical.

What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment

I want to emphasize that the house is not a model house for interior design magazines. Me and the dogs and cats don't care. Hope you don't, either. And it's small, best suitable for one person. Since the cats are free to roam outside, they may bring you 'presents' in form of mice and moles. - more or less dead - and also although they are medicated, there will be ticks occasionally. Ticks are common here, so you need to pay attention to them yourself as well. (I might be to honest with the description but nice surprises are better than not-so-nice ones.)

Can I bring my own pets?
