Cat & home sit in Northern Virginia

About this assignment

We are looking for someone who loves cats and is a non-smoking, responsible, kind and trustworthy person(s) to house sit and give loving & attentive care to our kitty, Phoebe, while we go away to visit my parents on the west coast. Treat our fur baby as we would treat her as well as be a responsible and considerate housesitter who will treat our home with respect and care.

What responsibilities are required of the house sitter

Phoebe eats wet food in the morning (and she gets medicine mixed in with it). She also free feeds dry kibble and has water bowls. Her bowls will need to be washed and replenished daily as well at her litter box scooped daily.

We expect you to keep general tidiness in the home while you are here and treat our home, property and neighbors with respect.

What are the good features of the property and location

Our home is in a Northern Virginia rural suburb of Washington DC (approximately 60 miles away). Our home is located on a dirt road off of a dirt road. There are only 6 houses on our road and it is a quiet rural setting. Where our home is located, you would need a vehicle to get around as there isn't public transportation. Western Loudoun County has many wineries and breweries. Having a car, you could easily do day trips to many nearby beautiful and historic places such as: Washington DC, Harpers Ferry WV, Great Falls National Park, Shennadoah National Park, and Baltimore MD, just to name a few! Lots of Civil War sites to visit, too!

What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment

Our home is not in an urban setting and does NOT have WIFI installed. Cell service is great in the area and we have chosen to use cell phones for hotspots. (The internet providers in our area have horrible customer service and high prices so we refuse to pay them for it.)

Our area does not have public transportation so you would need a vehicle to get around.

Our area has 4 seasons, so there’s always a chance for winter precipitation while you are here.

We are looking for a single person or couple who are calm, quiet and will be attentive to our fur baby. Sorry, no families with children need apply as our kitty is not comfortable around kids nor is our home set up for children.
