Relax in rural France

About this assignment

We are looking for a couple who enjoy relaxing in a tranquil rural setting. They need to be non smokers. A manual, ancient small van is available for use providing the applicant hold a full driving licence.

What responsibilities are required of the house sitter

The sitters would need to look after our mature independent cat. She requires daily feeding but will probably ignore you during your visit. General cleaning, weeding and garden maintanance would be required to maintain the property in the same condition as left.

What are the good features of the property and location

We live in a 200 year old 5 bedroom house in a beautifully quiet hamlet in rural France. There is wonderful walking and cycling on the doorstep though all the lovely countryside. The private heated pool is available for use during your visit.Our peaceful location is a 15 minute drive to local shops, 30 minutes to Cognac with all it's history and liquid treasures and an hour from the coast.
We have Wifi, satellite TV, infa red sauna ,heated outdoor pool,bbq, outside covered terrace and a large garden
A car driver is necessary as no public transport is available locally.

What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment

Our location is rural, there are no bars,restaurants or shops within walking distance. Multiple sitters have enjoyed the tranquility of this house, great for walkers and readers. We always like to have a chat via Skype or face time with prospective sitters so that both sides can clear up any questions before committing. References are preferable but as we have been using house sitters for multiple years and we are happy to accept newbies. Our house is very comfortable and well equipped. The kitchen facilities have been drooled over regularly by other sitters . External garden upgrades are ongoing but will not affect this sit.
