We are looking for person who can care for our two cats and possible (but not necessary) for our horse.
Querido only needs his food once a day or every second day since he has got access to hey all day long in the barn where he lives in his herd.
He also likes walks through the forrest. Some who knows how to lead a horse when he is not in his herd.
Looking for our two cats Bob and Bella:
- feeding them twice a day
- giving them love and care here and there
Driving to our horse Querido once a day or every second day:
- giving him his extra food
- walking with him in the forrest if he likes it
- maybe cleaning him a little and having a little chat :-)
Our home is a holiday retreat on 2ha forest and bush land. Great to reconnect with nature. We are in the Northern Black Forest. You can look it up under www.waldtor.de
We do have a drinking dwell at the house and we are right at the river and in the middle of the forest with heaps of hiking possibilities without needing a car you can go into the forest and enjoy yourself.
There is Bad Liebenzell with a Thermal Spa Bath 15mins drive away. 20mins away you are in Pforzheim or in Stuttgart (30mins away). Shops are 5mins away.
The person would need a car since we are living in the bush :-) approximately 15-20mins walk in town or to the bus stop
to get to the bar where our horse lives is not possible by bus
For the first couple times we will visit him together so you know him and the barn.
You will reqire a car for getting to the barn by yourself since it is a 30mins drive away from our property.
No, sorry.

Wonderful, warm and honest
We had a great stay! Janine is very friendly, open and honest. Very good communication beforehand (and during of course). We felt very welcome. Her house makes you feel comfortable right away. The cats are lovely and low maintenance. The view from the balcony is lovely. But for us, as sitters, the most important thing is the honesty of a home owner and feeling appreciated. We did. Highly recommended!

Lovely town, nice apartment, great home owner and easy care cat - a house sit opportunity not to be missed!
We spent an enjoyable five weeks at Janine’s lovely apartment in the summer of 2018. Datzingen is a charming little place and the local shops in easy walking distance provided for daily needs. We do not speak German but everyone we engaged with was friendly and helpful. Janine speaks fluent English and told us everything we needed to know about the house, their dear little pretty cat Mira and the local area. Janine and her sweet daughter even taking us out in the car to show us where the bigger supermarkets and recycling centre were, but most importantly the lovely stream where the local people go to relax on the banks and cool off in the beautiful clear water! The weather was mostly wonderful and we spent a lot of time out on the balcony having our meals, enjoying the sun and the views across the valley. The grey cranes were nesting in the treetops opposite and we had the pleasure of watching a crane chick grow, be fed and eventually fledge, encouraged raucously by its parents. Mira is very easy to look after, she liked to sit with us and to be petted and groomed and could sometimes be encouraged to play! She comes and goes as she pleases so there is no litter tray to be dealt with. The apartment is clean, comfortable, fully equipped and well placed for getting around. Driving in Germany is an absolute pleasure – drivers are so careful and courteous! There is no shortage of places to visit but we loved the little town of Wiel der Stadt just 10 minutes drive away. Not only is this the birthplace of Johannes Kepler, the astronomer, mathematician and astrologer but it also has a great market and while we were there the town square was turned into a beach for anyone to enjoy! (Mad) King Ludwig II’s fairytale castles and palace are between 2.5 and 3.5 hours away. The Black Forest is 1.5 hours drive away but there are a number of pretty small towns and villages and several picturesque lakes with a Bavarian flavour for day visits. University towns, some famous (i.e. Heidelberg on the Neckar River 1.5 hours away) and some less famous but all with interesting history. There are also many music and beer festivals during the summer. A “must do” is the fantastic tour of the Mercedes car factory in Sindelfingen just 20 minutes from Datzingen, see the cars being assembled by massive, self calibrating robots and then finished by human hand. This tour is completely free and was a wonderful experience, we were even given our "Mercedes Visitor" high viz vests to take away afterwards. The restaurant there is good and reasonably priced. Sindelfingen has a huge, modern shopping area also. On "stay at home" days there are pleasant walks around Datzingen and the disused railway line and embankment to walk along is just up the lane immediately outside the apartment. All in all, this was an enjoyable Bavarian experience for us!
