About this assignment
We are seeking a clean living responsible person or older couple to take care of our home, a kind and gentle Labrador and garden while we're away.
Police check and references are required and no other pets please.
Own car needed.
What responsibilities are required of the house sitter
To keep our home tidy and clean, to take good care of our dog who requires two walks a day, to send us reports on their wellbeing, to water all indoor plants and tend small garden. To respect our privacy and not to invite any additional guests into the property during your stay.
What are the good features of the property and location
A beautiful spacious open plan stone home - in a country village in the Languedoc, France. We have a thriving vegetable garden and a good natured, well trained young adult dog. A kitchen dining terrace overlooks the garden and sun roof terrace with views of the Pyrenees We are situated on the boundary of the Languedoc National Park. High speed broadband and all modern amenities available for a comfortable stay.
What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment
Couple / mature person are sought who enjoy handling dogs and hiking are self sufficient, clean living and dog loving.
Police check and references are required and own car needed.
No additional guests or pets, thank you.
Clean living non smokers only need apply please.
Home is rural so a car is required to reach shops situated a 15 minute drive away.
Contribution to any excessive use of electricity ( over and above our normal consumption ) will be expected.
We will sign a contract for the term to protect both parties.
House plants, garden, and dog require good standard of care. .
Replace what you use and keep the place clean and tidy please.

A beautiful home in Languedoc.
We have house sat for Anna several times. On each occasion we have had a wonderful time. Anna has made a beautiful home which is spacious, airy and full of light. There is a peaceful terrace to enjoy meals or evening drinks and a roof terrace which is a perfect spot for stargazing. During the day there are distant views of the Pyrenees. Her home is very comfortable and well equipped, and Anna was generous, welcoming, thoughtful, great at communication and an excellent host. Her Labrador has a very sweet temperament, is good company, is responsive and well trained. Walking with him at any time is a pleasure. Anna is an enthusiastic gardener and has made an exceptionally beautiful garden space to be in. She was very clear with information about what needed to be done to keep everything healthy while she was away. None of which was onerous. The house is situated in a village on the edge of the Languedoc national park close to the beautiful Orb River Valley where there are great opportunities for hill walking and hiking through gorges, kayaking, cycling and sightseeing. Plenty to keep us occupied at any time of year. The Mediterranean coast offers a dog friendly beach for seaside walks and the city of Beziers is not too far for exploration if desired.
