The dogs are a young labrador and a rescue dog from Spain. The ponies are Exmoors so quite Hardy and live out.
Someone experienced and kind with animals from dogs to ponies, who will look after my house as if it was their own for the duration of my holiday (4 weeks). Looking for a 'swop' - you live in my house for free in return for looking after my animals. References needed + phone reference. Dates are approximate as I want to make sure my animals are going to be left in safe hands before I book.
To look after my house and animals whilst I'm in New Zealand. Would need to be responsible and experienced/able for 2 dogs and 2 ponies. My routine is to feed all the animals at home as soon as I get up and then walk the dogs through the fields/down the river path to feed the ponies whose field is by the beach (10 minute walk each way). The ponies' poo needs to be picked up once a day - sorry! The dogs can be left for 4 hours during the day or taken out with you. There is someone who can animal sit occasionally, if the 'sitter' would like a day/weekend out. Someone will come in and do the garden but the house would need to be kept clean and tidy. Cooking is on an Aga. Please ask for more info.
Chocolate box cottage, in a quiet location on an arable farm, with 3 double bedrooms (2 with en-suite bathrooms) and a 'children's room' with bunk beds and a single. Family shower room. Situated 5 minutes walk from the sea and 10 minutes from the beach cafe. Close to several attractions - Arundel with it's castle, lake, wildlife and wetlands trust, quirky shopping, restaurants; Chichester Cathedral; South Downs for lovely walks; Brighton - cosmopolitan, shopping, theatres and tourist spot; Weald and Downland Open Air Museum at Singleton; London - 90 minutes on the train from Angmering Station (2 miles away).
My animals will need looking after daily so it might be seen as a bit of a tie and not suitable for someone wanting to travel further afield for more than 4 hours. There is someone who could cover a day/weekend, if necessary. A car would be helpful unless you are a very keen cyclist/walker! My landrover could be available for someone who has comprehensive insurance. The bus stop is 1 mile away and the train station is 2 miles away. Shops are in the nearby villages of East Preston and Ferring about 1 1/2 miles away. Shopping can be delivered by the local supermarket when ordered online.
No, sorry.
Testimonials
This house sit was a most wonderful experience in an amazing part of Sussex. Surrounded by countryside and nature. The thatch cottage is so peaceful and homely! Gill greeted us with a lovely meal after a very long drive! Would definitely sit for Gill again. Thank you for this lovely experience.
